As of around 6 weeks ago, I live about 2 minutes walk from the Bird in Hand. I am delighted by that fact. It is a good ol’, proper drinking pub. It has well kept beers(a selection of about 5) and seems to come in slightly less harshly on the wallet than many of the Brakspear pubs in the centre. Hoooky Dark about £2.80ish and others about £3−3.10ish. It feels, and obviously is a real part of the local community. It’s even dog-friendly. In fact, the little dog spaniel was a little too amorous with our bitch It’s my favourite place to drink in Henley, hands-down.

Excellent pub and just about the only one in the centre of Henley that is always worth a visit. Used to be dominated by a group of self-appointed ‘star regulars’ from the local football club but they seem to have been shooed away and now it’s just a fabulous, unpretentious boozer with great customers and fabulous management and staff.

An oasis in a barren wasteland of dying pubs. The Bird in Hand is a multi award winning real ale pub. Usually at least six different ales on tap, a couple of smelly dogs roaming the bar and a friendly crowd who are only too happy to welcome you in to their midst. Don’t expect fancy food or fizzy foreign lager. Do expect a great group of people and superbly kept ale.

Good selection of beers and very friendly landlord. Tucked away so you don’t get all the troublemakers here
