Tinto: Full of yummy mummys, toys and babies in the daytime, and as likely to bump into your younger brother as you are your mum and dad out on a date in the evening… Tinto really does seem to have knocked the market for a one size fits all. Out on a walk last night with the hubby I said I fancied a hazelnut milkshake(which I haven’t had since Guatemala 10 years ago!) and would you believe it, Tinto actually had one, served with chocolate syrup it was a Ferraro rocher in liquid form… total heaven. The best thing for me about Tinto is a nearly full menu of gluten free options. They really do cater well. Things to know: Burgers come in at about a tenner milkshakes 3 quid It gets busy! Totally comfortable lone dining experience and lovely breakfasts(including different fair like kedgeree etc) with a wide array of papers. Up beat cheerful staff. Not cheap, no real outside space, not enough toilets. Enjoy!

Great coffee and the tapas was very generous. They had over cooked the falafal but other than that the food was good.

This is another of the Lounge chain of coffee shops in Bristol. I don’t find this one quite as congenial as the Deco over on the posh side of town. Although the menu, furniture etc are all the same this being let’s face it a sort of Sunday supplement reader upgrade of the McDonalds business model the large windows here give you a manic panorama of the traffic thundering past on Gloucester Road right outside. Clientele are resolutely middle class, with laptops and designer babies much in evidence. Staff are not particularly friendly, although not actively unfriendly either. Lounge eggs on bacon is still my favourite.

This place is amazing. The décor is nice and warm and inviting after being on the cold rainy street. It is so cozy and unpretentious. The coffee is nice and and the food is tasty too. The service has been quick and friendly every time I have I been in. All in all this place is a lovely place to study during the day with a cup of coffee or a sweet little spot to enjoy a glass of wine and food with friends in the evening.

Great place for an early evening drink — food’s good too. Great buzzing atmosphere, although can be difficult to get a seat as it is so popular! Very laid back atmosphere just what you need to relax.

Menu good, atmosphere good, place good… Better than the one in north street.

This is one of my favourite Lounge Bars out of a whole sprawling range of them. I’m a massive fan of everything that this little local ‘chain’ of cafes/bars has to offer. The Lounge Bars are a wonderful invention, and I look forward to them spreading all over in a Starbucks-like rash. Yay for expansion. Tinto Lounge serves a wide range of food, cakes, tapas, coffee, beer and cocktails. In short, there really is something here for everyone. At night time the whole place is lit up with candles in a cosy and personable air, which is romantic, comfortable, classy and relaxed. One of my favourite things about this chain of cafes is the interior design. It’s completely to my taste; think old churchy interiors with cosy sofas, candles and chit chat-able tables. The food and drinks here are wonderful; slightly on the expensive side, perhaps, but I’ve always found that it’s worth every penny. A choice selection. Go and enjoy.

After the phenomenal success of the original Lounge on North Street, Tinto Lounge was one of several new branches opened in other parts of Bristol. For all of them, the formula is the same: rustic miss-matched furniture, a welcoming atmosphere and great food, particularly breakfasts. The Tinto Lounge is bigger than the tiny Porto Lounge in Fishponds, but its popularity means that there can still be a long wait for a table at peak times(such as a Saturday morning when it will be packed with hung-over local students). In order to avoid the crush and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere the way it was intended to be, you would do well to visit in the middle of a week day, when it will be a great deal quieter. Be sure to sample the breakfasts — they have a big reputation, but I can assure you that they certainly live up to them.

The rustic, red-tinged Tinto Lounge is a pleasant, higgledy-piggledy place decked out with mis-matched furniture giving it a homely feel that belies its true identity as part of a chain, albeit a small and regional one. This is an unpretentious and reliable place to enjoy some chilled-out music and get a bite to eat, including tasty tapas — as well as a good cup of coffee. You can settle here for a while for a gossipy lunch, or a read of the newspaper, without feeling the staff are impatient for you to leave. Tinto has consistently good standards in terms of the food served, too, which I’m sure is an important factor in attracting regulars — particularly in more local neighbourhoods such as this rather than city centre locations. The only problem with this Tinto is that it sometimes gets so packed out you have to wait for a table.

Tinto Lounge is one of several ‘Lounges’ in Bristol, the first of which, simply called Lounge, was opened on North Street in Bedminster over a decade ago. This Lounge was probably one of the first businesses in this area to offer something better than a greasy spoon caff, pound shop or a pawnbrokers, and has probably played a large part in the eventual gentrification of the entire street. I’m not entirely sure if Tinto was the next outlet to be opened, but logic would dictate that it was. Situated on a run down section of Gloucester Road amid sprawling student accommodation and close to the council housing estates of Southmead it is in many ways a north side equivalent to the original south side location. The business has been developed over the years into a small chain, but the fact that it’s homegrown and regional makes it a bit different to the Starbucks of this world. All of the Lounges are decorated in a similar way. There’s plenty of exposed antique pine that offers a rustic kind of feel. Although the overall guidelines are clearly there, uniformity has definitely been avoided, even in the individual outlets. No two tables are the same, and the seating is made up of mix and match chairs. Local auctions must fair pretty well every time a new Lounge is opened! Prices are reasonable, and the standard of food is always good. If anything, you pay a little over the odds for things, but you can, as the name suggests, stay as long as you want without feeling any pressure to move on. There’s always reading material, including plenty of books, so there’s almost an invitation from the owners to take root!

Tinto Lounge is almost a victim of its own success. I cannot count the number of times I have visited seeking succour on a hungover Saturday morning only to learn that there is a huge queue for tables and I must slink off somewhere less desirable with my tail between my legs. The vibe here is great though so you can see why it is so popular. And while I have often cursed its small size when I am hungry and full of bile, it would lose something of its charm if it was expanded. They do fantastic breakfasts and the baristas are pretty talented as I have never sipped a bad cup of coffee here. There is a lovely, relaxed moochy atmos on Sundays when people hog tables for hours as they graze and smear their greasy fingerprints over all the Sunday papers. It is well worth walking to the seedier part of Gloucester Road for, but just make sure you beat the hordes!

I was absolutely stunned to see such a cool, trendy place on a stretch of Gloucester Road which is a little dull and lacklustre. After spending some time strolling up the road and passing by some dead cafes and bars, I was shocked to see a place which was bursting to the seams with people; all of them seemed to be having a great time too. Very incongruous to its surroundings, Tinto Lounge is full of life and fresh. Taking advantage of its elite position, Tinto Lounge is fairly expensive but the drinks and food are swanky and great quality. This is great for lunch with friends and even better for pre-drinking.

I used to live in Oldfield Park in Bath where the best place to go for breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks… or just about anything really, was the Velo Lounge. It’s a great place, so I had high expectations for the Tinto Lounge — and I wasn’t disappointed. There’s a great vibe about it and although it’s completely different layout-wise from the branch in Bath, it’s still got the same chilled out atmosphere. They serve a range of tapas dishes, which, although a bit pricey, are extremely tasty and great for a snack or a meal. This is one of the best places to go in the area, in my opinion and I thoroughly recommend it.

I think the lounge chains are simply great, with good coffee, good food and warm, cosy surroundings, what more could you want? The Tinto Lounge is no exception, it sold Bristol to me, pre moving here. I really liked watching the microcosm that is Gloucester road amble by the window, sipping a strong black coffee and talking about big plans for when I moved to the big city. This branch is probably better in the day than at night. But for one of the founder branches, it certainly does the lounge company justice.

Compared to dreary Horfield, where Tinto Lounge is to be found, this place absolutely oozes cool. Well selected music and a young crowd come together to make somewhere that feels stylish and chilled out. There’s a decent menu, and if you’re feeling rich this is a great place to splash out for lunch. If you are watching your money then the olives aren’t too pricey and you get loads of them. Otherwise, this is a nice place to get a beer pre-clubbing or read the paper with a cup of coffee. As well as ticking boxes on the atmosphere and food Tinto Lounge has friendly and attentive staff. A visit to Tinto Lounge wont transport your from Horfield to a the swanky bars of London or New York but it should be a slightly more agreeable experience than just heading to the local maccie D’s.

Another one in the lounge local/soon-to-be national chains, Tinto Lounge is at the far end of Gloucester Road in Horfield. It’s as good as all the others, which makes me a fan. All on one level, it’s glass fronted, looking out on to the not so picturesque road. This is its only drawback though, as the atmosphere, big Lounge style wooden tables and smooth hip music combine to create another success story under the owner’s belt. The food is well priced, and the tapas menu, which changes slightly with each location, has a good selection. It’s not the largest of premises though, so it can get pretty crowded, especially on the weekends and at lunch time in the week days. Well worth a try though, and gives a bit of life to this end of town.

great food! i had the best home made fresh burger here and it was massive and the tastiest burger ever! food portions are great and if anything too big. Prices are slightly higher than pub grub etc but i have to say its well worth the extra money as the quality is very good. nice atmosphere aswell.

With its comfy armchairs, dimmed lighting, and rustic tables, the Tinto Lounge is loved for its inviting and cosy atmosphere. A great food menu and range of drinks including smoothies and milkshakes, make the Tinto Lounge an ideal place to enjoy a date with a loved one, a glass of wine with friends, or a mug of hot chocolate in the day.
