I agree with all the previous comments. Do not even try them unless you are completely lost. The prices are outrageous and the service is arrogant and bordering on rude. Foreigners are not told of alternative ways to get to where they want to go so make the mistake of booking a taxi when the train will be just as good and cheaper.
I cannot believe that Gatwick Airport allow them to get away with what they do. If you plan correctly you can hire a car cheaper than the price that they will charge for a 20 minute journey.
Totally terrible!

i agree totally with RICHG1 — checkers are massively over-priced. i think this is because its a tourist trap company, for locals ie staff i recommend going into the Sofitel Hotel at the North terminal and asking reception to call you a cab
