Waitrose

One of the better Waitrose stores in layout and size. The café area is a light and airy place, serving nice, if expensive, food. Pretty much Waitrose summed up, really.
The scan and shop service makes this a preferable place to shop compared to the nearby Tesco, especially if you have a toddler in tow (like me) and a hatred of queuing (like me). That said, the queues never seem to be that long, apart from on Saturdays, but that’s to be expected.
Finally, it may be my snobbery but the staff in this Waitrose seem to be a cut above the staff you get elsewhere. Even the Saturday kids are articulate and well turned out, rather than being your average gruntards.

Always a positive experience. Although a little more expensive, as the saying goes ‘pays your money takes your choice’
A well-​laid out store, plenty of room between the aisles and a great little coffee shop in the corner serving fantastic cakes, pastries and more.
There are plenty of staff around to help. They always greet you with a warm and welcoming smile. They have good knowledge of the store and the products that they are selling. If you can’t find what you are looking for they will physically guide to the item not just casually point you in the direction unlike other stores.
A free car park is avaliable when using the store although it can be busy, not always with people using the store.

An extra bonus at this supermarket, they have a really nice coffee shop !! You can by cakes or pastries at the bakery and they will take them to the café for you or try one of the bacon rolls, they are really good. They offer a selection of hot dishes & sandwiches/​paninis all freshly made.
They sell a daily cooked joint, among other hot food, which you can by by the gram or in a roll. It makes a really good lunch.
The store offers a huge range of products for daily use or special occasions. They have really good offers in all departments. The aisles are spacious and uncluttered.
The staff are helpful & very knowledgeable about the products. There is plenty of free (limited 2 hours) parking.
