This place has loads going for it, and deserves to be better, but it’s like a black hole that sucks all character and personality away. The staff are always very friendly, and do everything they can to make you welcome — if you’re a regular they’ll remember what you drink, and the boss is friendly and affable(They get their 3*‘s alone). With all this going for it The Bank should be a rocking establishment, but it’s not, and it’s a real shame. Perhaps if it sold better beer? Perhaps when it was converted to the pub(it was surprisingly enough a bank in a previous incarnation) they incorporated a kitchen? I love going there, and it deserves support, because everyone there is working really hard with what seems to have been a great idea for a pub, just badly thought out and designed.
