Lamb shank was to die for! In honor of Robert Burns Day this week we ate two Haggis dishes! Both awesome, but especially the Bön bons — fried with a ketchup and mayo sauce. The fried scallops were fresh and delish. And the baked Salmon was not only fresh but baked in a wonderful sauce; ditto the fresh mussels and their sauce. Natalie took wonderful care of us; we three shared all, but had to leave the veggies untouched, we were too full of all that goodness and could not eat another bite.

We lucked out again and managed to get a table on an hour’s notice. I asked for the gluten free menu and was told they didn’t have one, but could tell me what was okay to eat. They also informed me that their kitchen was too small to guarantee anything would be completely gluten free. They suggested I pick a few things rather than them going through the whole menu, so I did. Option 1 was risotto: no dice, contains gluten. Option 2 was Cullen Skink, which was okay without the side of bread. Option 3, the pork belly, was also okay. I ordered the soup. My vegetarian companions split the risotto. They say the risotto was alright but nothing special. My soup was actually quite nice, I’d recommend it. There were a few desserts I could have had, but they all involved ice cream and I wasn’t feeling it. Service was good but they were all running about, the place was super busy. It’s a reasonable option when visiting Inverness.

Went after reading reviews on Trip Advisor. Don’t usually dine in pubs, preferring restaurants but was stuck for choice due to closed restaurants on Boxing Day. My partner had Pheasant and I had venison hot-pot both £12. Unlike others experience about this Pub, nothing about the taste, presentation, quality and waiting time hinted at them using microwave reheated food for these meals. I’d say their food was good pub food and from my experience would recommend those looking for tasty food in generous portions in an informal setting.

Went here last night with a large crowd(13 people). They split us up over two tables. I had the haggis starter with the Salmon Rob Roy and a side of chips. Split the haggis with my wife and we both thought it was excellent. The salmon had a butter lemon sauce which tasted great. The chips were better than any I’ve had recently. Very hot and crisp. Some of the folks had the mixed plate starter with a beer and were very happy with it. My wife and another person had the steak and ale pie and were very satisfied. The beers on tap were good but limited. They needed a few more local beers. All in all, very good.

On our first visit, we just had drinks which was lovely. We asked what haggis was like and the lady working the bar, brought us some out to try which was very thoughtful and sweet of her. Second time we went, we came for food. The menu is pretty standard with a few specials but looked nice. While there the manager loudly complained about previous customers who has been rude which I didn’t think was very appropriate and seemed odd. We waited quite a long time for food even though the restaurant was not busy at all. The food was cold and very bland, microwaved fare. Go elsewhere for food.
