wow. lovely little place to eat. have already recommended it to work colleagues. went over at a busy lunch time, the place is all very quaint and has a cosy and relaxing setting inside. from the outside its easy to think its very small however there is plenty of seating. ordered food at the counter and someone brought it over. i had the bacon and brie toasted sandwich, was yummy! got a lovely side salad throw in too which is always a plus. had freshly squeezed orange to drink, all very yummy and a must go again! something else to add of interest, arlingtons has their own list of events which is worth a look.

Me and Miss Lucy went here for Lunch last Monday, it was cold and horrible outside, so we thought a bit of French influence goodness might cheer up the day, and it certainly did! Greeted warmly by Marita and co, and sat at a roomy table for 4, I had French Onion Soup(Had to be done!) followed by a traditional French Cassolet, complete with herby crusted top. Lucy had Olives to start, and the Steak and Ale Pie. All the food was fantastic, authentically French and exactly what we were looking for. I managed to squeeze in a little Crème Caramel to finish off my Frenchy Themed lunch, whilst Lucy sensibly abstained and minded her waistline! I love Arlingtons, its the only authentic and relaxed Brasserie around; and its nice to see an actual brasserie, not just a restaurant thats called a brasserie! Although the room and setting is so grand you can easily mistake it for a posh restaurant, and you’d miss the point. All in all, highly recommended, just keep in mind its an informal brasserie, NOT a snobby restaurant, and you wont be disappointed. (I may be bias, as I know the owners Ken, Liz and their manageress Marita well, but I honestly believe this is lovely venture that should be visited if you’re in town!)

Recently opened in the old Ipswich Museum on Musuem Street, just off the Town Centre. Great food, good value. They have a bar area downstairs where you can sit and eat a sandwich. I believe they also do takeaway sandwiches. I went and had a meal after late night shopping just before Christmas and didn’t feel out of place wearing a pair of jeans. Lovely atmosphere and great food. Would certainly recommend to anyone.
