Juliet’s Garden Restaurant

This place deserves 5 stars just for its wonderful sun terrace and perfect views over the bay towards Hugh Town, but it’s actually a great restaurant as well. We came here twice, once for coffee and once for lunch. The cappuccino and latte we had were top notch and the best we’d had on the island. For lunch, the options on the menu were a bit more varied and healthy than the typical fare available at other places with dishes such as crayfish tails, mackerel pâté and grilled halloumi salad. There were also a range of baguettes and sandwiches. There’s a full bar and I can recommend the local brew, a pint of Golden Ball! Service was efficient and though we sat outside, the inside is also very smart and would a great place for evening dinner. But for me, it’s all about coming here to soak up the gorgeous views of Hugh Town with Samson and the Bishop Rock lighthouse in the distance.

An awesome view out over the bay with really lovely food & fabulous service. We spent most of a day there having our lunch & would have stayed longer if we could!
Can recommend it enough.

Gorgeous cream tea!
Die besten Scones auf den Inseln. Sollte man in keinem Fall verpassen (zu anderen Speisen kann ich leider nichts sagen). Dazu kommt der schöné Garten mit einer wunderbaren Aussicht. Kann man durchaus einmal Ebbe und Flut an sich vorbeiziehen lassen :).

This place has grown and grown. A few years ago you ate in the garden, served from a hut. Now there’s a full scale modern restaurant. But the real treat is tea or lunch in the terraced garden. There’s a long and interesting menu of salads and sandwiches (toasted or not). Main course sizes are about £8 (£14 for crab — but it’s good sweet, fresh crab). And they do wine, beer, cider and Pimms, as well as tea and coffee. The view is fantastic, seeing Hugh Town and the harbour spread out below you.

We guessed we’d be in for a treat when they told us on arrival we might have to wait a little while as the chef was just baking a new batch of scones!!! Yes, we don’t mind waiting, thank you!
Gorgeous cream tea. The scones were warm, you get 3 of them and there was plenty of the best bits (the jam and clotted cream) to go round. The tea was lovely too. And of course, you can’t grumble about the location! Fantastic views!
Would love to have tried the food.
Oh dear, will just have to go back another time!
