Due to another restaurant turning into a chinese take-away my friends and I found ourselves here for a late night meal. The 10 of us arrived at about 22.00 and we accommodated with ease, tables were rearranged for us to all sit together. We were the only people in the restaurant which is always a worry to me but the service was good and the food was fine. I wasn’t enamoured with the chicken shish, however other people’s food was much better than mine. Although as we arrived at 10pm and had been celebrating a while beforehand I am not sure how much my judgement was impaired. It is a BYOB situation so we had to run to the garage up the road to make sure we had something more to drink. The toilet wasn’t particularly clean and only accessable via some tatty back stairs, so it really isn’t wheelchair friendly despite the small access ramp into the building. There was a tv showing a comedy channel on all the time and whilst the volume was turned down the shiny lights were rather distracting.

Rather a geasy menu with no thought to healthy eating: sweeteners not available instead of sugar, no vegetables on the menu. Food is passable but coffee was just instant in hot water. The other nearby cafés are better.

I haven’t visited but I’ve had food delivered and I was pleased with what I got. I don’t know real from fake pelmeni, but I do know I like theirs– satisfying texture and nice juicy flavorful meat inside. Dessert wasn’t grand and was rather dry, but I’ll be coming back for some more pelmeni, which might turn out to be my AW12 comfort food.
