A pleasant enough medium-sized pub with cosy knocks and alcoves. One of the first things that hit me here was the difference in legislation of allowing pubs to still have cigarette machines on Jersey! Sometimes it is the small differences that often go unnoticed, and it is only when you see them again that you realised that they have disappeared throughout England. Drinks here were reasonably priced enough and the service from the bartenders was friendly. Although quaint in here, it seemed like it had been a long time since they had looked after the flooring or the fittings and furnishings — many of them looked well loved and worn in places. On the evening that I visited, the locals were enthralled with the England match that was being shown(with great volume) on a projector screen. I think perhaps I would enjoy returning here on an evening without the sport showing, as I feel it would have a massively different vibe. So strange to see a cigarette machine.
