Farrers was producing great coffee years, if not decades before Starbucks et al ‘introduced’ us to an alternative to Nescafe!
Food is great, cakes are lovely and the service is always top notch, despite the four levels the waitresses have to run between!

Coffee and tea lovers? You need to visit the wonder that is Farrers. A guaranteed winner for the best fresh tea and coffee selections that are rarely equalled. Every visit my parents make to kendal involves a trip to the shop to stock up on drinks!

This is a coffee shop situated in a very old building in Kendal. There are lots of beams, whitewashed walls and worn wooden floors. The main seating area is in the basement and is very cosy (and usually quite full!) with an old bread oven at the rear of the room. As you would expect, you can have many kinds of tea and coffee here — all very good. There are also tasty cakes and homemade soups. On a sunny day you can sit outside as there are a few tables set out on the pavement.
On the ground floor is a shop area selling all things tea and coffee. This is also pleasingly old-​fashioned with lots of dark wood and decorative old tins storing different varieties of tea.
