Even though ego is a chain (and I’m not a big fan of chains), it is one of the better italian restaurants in Coventry. The food is good (I’m a big fan of the pizzas), the space is open and the staff friendly. They’re also open pretty late for this area and within walking distance if you’re staying at the Holiday Inn.

The food was really nice. I had Moroccan Lamb and hubby had breaded Lamb cutlets. Delicious and cooked to our liking. The wine list had some real gems on it. The staff were knowledgable, friendly and effecient and there was a Spanish Guitarist playing to add a relaxing atmosphere. DEFINATELY go back there

Ate here last after some months away. Very disappointed with the main i had. Salmon fishcakes. Dry and very unlnspiring and served with fries, not at all what i would expect.

This is a fairly new place (either that or I’ve just noticed it), serving Mediterranean (French, Italian, Spanish & Moroccan) dishes. The menu is extensive, interesting and served by really nice people — friendly without being too matey.
It’s got really modern décor, and it’s expensive (ish) at £40 each for 3 courses with wine, but worth it. Also they have special offers every night including free house wine on Sundays, and live music on Thursdays (non intrusive Jazz).
It would get 5 stars but for slightly uncomfortable chairs.
