Go Ape Leeds Castle

Four of us –two adults and two teenagers– loved the Go Ape adventure. There was another couple there and a group of teens, and although we trained at the same time we hardly saw them after that. Safety is certainly stressed during training, but it still gets your heart rate up. Their is a junior course for little ones. Our adventure had five various ropes courses up in the trees, each ending with a zipline ride down to solid ground. Our more daring daughter used her iPhone to video most of her experience. It was a wonderful day and we still had time to enjoy the Leeds Castle grounds, tour and hedge maze. It was about ten degrees F cooler in the trees. Read the website for how to dress. Had such a fun day out here on their Tree Top Adventure day out. You’re taken through getting harnessed and taken through an interactive safety tutorial. Your group is mixed with others, but you’re free to complete the course at your own pace and there isn’t a constant queue of people but it will still take around 4 – 5 hours to complete the course.
A combination of walking on think planks, tree hoop rings, swining into nets and ziplining through the trees and open fields, this is a great experience even if you’re a little weary of heights like myself or don’t normally do a lot of intense physical activity. For the harder parts of the course, they often have a secondary route, but some areas the only way to go is forward so you’ll eventually face your fears and come out more confident for it.
One of the nice things is that you’re supervised directly for the 1^st part of the course, of which there are 5 sections, but after that you’ll kind of left to your own devices. There are staff around, but they’re not actively observing at that point. And if people are mucking about they’ll hopefully have been thrown out by that point.
In all and excellent day out that will give you a thirst for adventure within a safe, controlled environment.
For younger kids, there is a kid friendly course worth considering.
