The location is brilliant, the burgers they serve are famous you won’t be disappointed, and the prices are good as well. It is a little on the small size and tends to fill up but don’t let that put you off visiting.

Lovely setting right by a canal and lock. When it’s busy it can be hard to get a seat outside but don’t let that put you off. It’s certainly worth a visit and highly recommended.

Great pub offering good real ales and excellent food. All meets from local farmers. The burgers are delicious probably best I’ve had. Reasonable prices for ale meals from about £6.00. Sometimes there is a 2 for one offer on. Well worth a visit if in area.

Not the pub, though I’m sure it’s fine, but the Tea Shop. This enterprising pub has converted a little old smithy alongside the canal lock. No seating indoors, but nice garden summer and winter to sit and watch the barges go by. Standard snack fayre — toasties etc (not to detract from the pub food of fish/​chips, beef & ale pies etc), but good coffee and even better Ice cream from quality producers. A regular treat when walking/​cycling along the canal.
