I didn’t realise that children as young as 5 could become involved with the St John’s Ambulance Brigade but they can. The Kidlington section has their own modern purpose built centre and is very popular both with children that are Badger aged(between 5 and 10) and even with teenagers. Badgers take both boys and girls and they work through various challenges that enable young people to learn important life skills in a fun and safe environment according to the website. My children definately had plenty of fun. I’m not sure how good their first aid skills are but then what can you expect from a 7 year old? Sadly Badger night clashed something else even more exciting so they’ve given up but I would recommend it to anyone whose child wants to do something varied.
