Great Atmosphere — delicious food — good wine! I loved the intimate tables and couches around the fire place. The staff was attentive and helpful. I would frequent this place if I lived nearer to it.

Just went for a walk in Richmond park with the dogs and the family. It’s Mother’s Day so as tradition we go out for a walk and then go for a beer. It’s a perfect end for a long week. Having grown up in Kingston, I’ve never been to this pub. Always driven past it and liked the look of the building. I’m a sucker for architecture and this building is pretty cool! What’s also cool, is the inside. It’s lush!!! I love a Sunday spent in a pub, wearing a wax jacket, welly boots, jeans and a cream knitted jumper. Call me middle class but it’s something I really enjoy. Especially with my family, they pay! Anyway, it’s a really nice pub, open fires, lovely décor, good choice or beer on tap and they do a roast. This looked real good! Not only tasty but it looked generous, as in a generous portion. It wasn’t just three peas, two roast potatoes, a carrot and a chicken leg. It had the full works! If I was taking someone to Kingston and wanted to show them a cool or traditionally English pub. I’d take them here!

This a really lovely well maintained Pub, the food is first rate and not overpriced for the quality. The staff are friendly and efficient, well worth a visit.

For all the Kingston Hospital staff, the Albert is truly a god-send! This fantastic pub, just a stone’s throw across the road from the hospital and the Kingston gate to Richmond park, is a great place for both food and drink all year round. The place had a facelift toward the end of last year and its new 1920s-style décor, is both bright and airy during summer, but intimately cosy during the winter months. The food is a seasonal mix of pub classics & specials, all freshly prepared. The pub also has a decent selection of cask conditioned ales & wines. The inside is separated into multiple areas so those wanting a quieter evening aren’t disturbed by larger groups. There are also numerous outdoor areas — the main section as you enter the pub and also a ‘secret courtyard’ at the back with a bar, a cosy candle lit area for those who don’t like to be disturbed.

Very cosy feel in this newly decorated Young’s Pub. Good choice of beer/ales. Loving the London Pale Ale(Meantime brewery). New décor with non matching chairs and 1920ies style filament light bulbs.

Ambled along to The Albert for a small family reception recently. It’s a former Victorian Hotel & had been given a tasteful, contempory makeover whilst retaining the high ceilings and ‘old fashioned London pub’ feel it had in its days as The Albert Arms. They kept the usual Youngs/Wells drinks but served a delicious pint of Cornish Wrecker too. Enjoy the latter first!!! We arrived terribly early but the staff were unfazed and the food was plentiful, tasty and has some groovy modern twists. I liked the pub, the atmosphere and the kind, professional staff very much indeed.

Really friendly staff welcomed us and showed us to the dining area. I had the Steak and Ale pie which was delicious — the meat was so tender and the puff pastry on top was light and flaky. It came with mashed potato and seasonal veg which were great. My other half had the lamb burger which he said was good. The prices were expensive for a pub, but the food was so good it was worth it.
