This salon has an bold image probably to attract the kind of customers that will want the kind of cuts this barber will give. The theme is a gothic/pirate/rock and roll one — the sign includes a skull and crossbones but scissors in place of the bones. The customers sit in front of large gold coloured mirrors against a dark red back drop. A guitar hangs on the wall and drums appear to hold up the front desk. I think this kind of detail is important, psychologically when choosing to get a hair cut because you never just want a hair cut, you really want to buy into an image. The barber here gives you just that and even won the Thomas Danby Barber of the Year Award in 2009.
