What a shame. It has been closed due to flood from pipe of shopping centre. We’ll hopefully find another Cosmo in the near future.

Superior Pan-Asian buffet restaurant, part of the nationwide COSMO chain. The second COSMO branch I visited(after Reading). Later I also frequented the York and Derby restaurants — the décor and menu are pretty much streamlined, so when you’ve eaten at one of their venues, you’ll know what to expect at the others. While there are pizza and other non-Asian dishes, too, the emphasis clearly lies on Chinese and Indian — and, to a lesser extent, Japanese food. Sushi might just be too expensive, so the selection at all of the COSMOS I visited was marginal, whereas there were plenty of Chinese and Indian dishes to choose from. Sushi at the York branch gave me food poisoning for a day(see my review), so if in doubt steer clear of the Japanese section. The Chinese and Indian selections are of decent to good quality, all the ones I tried(and I tried quite a few) were perfectly edible though certainly not of gourmet quality — but this is a buffet, all-you-can-eat restaurant — remember? Of its kind, it’s certainly one of the best I’ve been to. Being naturally curious, I always observe what others are eating: Strangely, many people are filling up on cheap, empty carbs like rice or even those puffy crab chips that kiddoes love so much. For my part, I prefer REAL food. And I’m certainly getting my money’s worth at COSMO. The layout at the Leeds restaurant, which is in a basement and, thus, devoid of windows, is a little less patron-friendly than the others I visited, while the food bars are essentially the same everywhere. There’s a few tapped lagers available(don’t expected any real ales), which are of course not included in the buffet price. But when you order a soft drink you can drink yourself into oblivion. I do strongly recommend to make a reservation if you’re having dinner at the Leeds COSMO. On both my visits they had to turn people away who didn’t have one(Staff at other COSMO branches were more flexible and always managed to squeeze me in after a little while when I had made no reservation). There’s even an Android app that allows you to book a table. All in all, recommended as a Pan-Asian buffet.

You are not likely to find a better buffet in Leeds. The selections are vast and they even have sushi. It is good quality(will not blow your mind) and the chinese choices are especially strong. Price is very good and the place is clean, modern and friendly.

Ever since the Trinity kitchen has opened, it makes it a must go to Trinity Leeds to explore what new options are out there. It is more like the pandoras box where you get to see something new every week. We happened to be there at Cosmo’s opening day in Leeds. We were welcomed by friendly and cheerful staff and explained about the options you have and also said there were enough choices for people with dietary requirements. The interiors were pretty much like a banquet hall to match the theme of the restaurant itself. The warmth and the cheer of the staff was very consistent throughout our entire time at the location. There was a plethora of choices in the food with regards to Italian, Mexican, Indian, Thai and a whole lot more. The options in the desserts are quite a lot and the food was pretty decent. In the days to come, the biggest challenge for the restaurant is how they compete with the other buffet locations in terms of variety or they choose to go down the route of keeping the same things making them mundane which is why I am leaving 1 star out. Definitely a place to try at least once.
