Dry Dock is the bomb, I’ve spent so many of my Tuesday nights enjoying myself on their pound pints, granted it’s not the nicest tasting pint out there, but for a pound can you really complain? I love quite alot of things about this bar; for starters you’re drinking on a boat which is a nice touch within itself, you can have a laugh with some of the workers if you’re like minded people and the top deck is a great spot for smokers or to have a pint in the summer. The Dry Dock is good place to stop before a night out, but if you want a kicking atmosphere, visit here on a Tuesday.

Went to this bar for the first time this weekend. Mainly because it has an outside drinking area. Have always avoided it because it quite obviously is a student pub. The staff were lovely and plentiful so no waiting around. Didn’t order food but the meals being brought out looked very good. I’m sure during the week it gets pretty hectic, the deck opens up onto the lawn which is lovely. It is a tad grubby and rough around the edges but worth a look if just for the outside area.

Haven’t got much to say, but what a waste of a ship. I wanted to go in here because the place looked really interesting and cool. most interesting looking ‘Scream’ bar i’ve seen. This bar could look real cool and have a theme inside, but it’s all a bit boring inside. Looks are deceiving. Typical bar variety, shots r us, pool, Deal or No Deal on the games thingy… Not a fan of the ‘its a Scream’ chain at all. You know what you are getting when you see their logo. Cheap, dirty, low quality student madness. If you hate students don’t even bother going past this bar. It just gets even more studenty. God I hate students now.

An o. k student pub. It is quite cool that the pub is actually a boat. I used to go quite often in my younger days but not so much anymore. The food is quite good value for money and me and my friends have had some good times in there. If you’re a student it’s a great place to start your night before you head into town. If you’re not a student, it may not be to your taste

Great place to start a night if you’re a student. Beer and spirit selection isn’t very exciting tbh, but it’s cheap and very student friendly(so expect noise and rowdiness on busy nights). It’s also at the end of the Otley Run if you make it that far. The beer is cheap so don’t expect too much. It’s cheap enough for students to blow their maintenence loan there. People who aren’t students who are a bit more mature will probably hate this place. Too many young’uns in fancy dress. The toilets are also pretty nasty. Not the worst ‘It’s a Scream’ bar. Extra points for the fact that the bar is a boat, which is pretty cool.

A few weeks back I headed over to the Dry Dock with some friends for a gig they’d planned to see. It was an impromptu outing for me, not having planned to attend, but nonetheless I’m not one to turn down the offer of free music and a few pints of an eve’.(You must know this by now.) So, off we trotted and approached the ever-familiar doors of this ship out of water. How it ever came to be where it is, stranded as such, I still don’t know –if any of you happen to be informed do let me know. And if the story doesn’t involve ancient Leodian pirates, and some kind of epic battle, don’t tell me. I like to imagine that this is why it is forever docked in the centre of town… Anyway. Yes, the Dry Dock. Sticky floor, check. Hoards of student-graduate drinkers, check. Questionable toilets, check. Array of frighteningly coloured beverages, cheap pub offers and standard lagers, check. Basically, you won’t ever come here for a quality drink, or to admire the décor. Beyond being an awesomely big ship, there’s nowt much of excitement inside, by way of fancy trim or delectable drinks to tickle one’s tastebuds. And add to that the poor attention of the staff(I stood for a good 15+ minutes and watched newer customers get served before me, which always makes me sad) and you can have a fairly average-uninspiring night here. However, there are two important things to note. One, is that it remains a stalwart on the Leeds gig arena. Hence our being there for the band. Granted, the band preceding the one we’d come to see was a hot mess of awful grunge noise and attempted metal, but the rest that I stayed on to witness were fabulous. Take note of their gig diary, and have a few before you get there, to be in for a grand night. The second noteworthy pointer is that during the summer, as I mentioned before, it’s a top spot for catching some mid-summer rays, up on the balcony.(Or on the grass, if they still ‘low it.) That alone, in a city with surprisingly few outdoor inner-city drinking spots, is enough to draw me back there come August for some pre-whatever night out drinks… It’s grand, for nostalgia/quirkyness’ sake, so give it a go. Grand!

Chowed down on a TEXASBARBEQUE burger here a couple years ago. Tasted like SCUM. English lagers are SUB-PAR. I’M GOIN’ BACK.

I’m Dry Docks biggest fan, then I’m its least. The dirt cheap Scream menu is everything a student could want out of a meal, a good load of meat, a load of chips and all for around £5. This is where i become anti Dry Dock, it does no good for my waist! It’s on my way into university and there’s many a day where its been too good to pass up. Dry Dock is a brilliant venue, um on a boat, how did it get there? I’m thinking one of Noah’s friends ditched it there after the flood, who knows. But its great! As one of the last stops on the Otley run, if you can make it that far, Dry Dock has brilliant drinks offers to tip you over the edge. Or maybe some food to soak up some of the alcohol? Either way Dry Dock has a lot to offer, its location is perfect for meeting a friend for a quick drink or to gorge out on massive burgers with your friends in the summer.

What a place! Dry Dock is a boat, but, on dry land. And it’s a pub. Opposite Leeds Uni it’s oft frequented by students and it’s not uncommon to see a queue a mile long outside. There is also an upstairs seating area to accomodate the millions of people that want to visit. This is a great liuttle pub, very unique and definitely angled towards the alternative/student scene. A great warm up if you’re going into town or to Fab Café. Recommended!

the dry dock is seriously musically challenged… one minute playing LLCoolJ and the next minute playing the Hives… but I gotta admit that it’s definitely part of it’s charm. It’s part of the series of «scream pubs» with the same food and chiz, so no big deal with the food. If anything I always find the food(mostly the burgers) a bit on the dry side… they need more juice in their burgers… I’m thinking it’s probably because they over-cook it… Oh how I miss California’s In-n-out burger craze… drool drool drool. … and I know this sounds gross, but their chips are too dry as well… YES, I like soggy chips… they’re the best!!! but of course… that’s just me. So to soggy-it-up I get extra, extra CHEESE cause I figure that cheese makes everything good, but THEYDON’T PUTENOUGH!!! MORECHEESE I SAY!!! MOOOOORRREEEEE!!!

I’m really not a fan of the music in dry dock… or the people. It was full of really rude, loud people when I went… but then again, the music was loud so I suppose they have to shout louder to be heard… Anyway, I hated the music but the sheer excitement of sitting on top deck of a boat in the middle of the road in Leeds enticed me to stay that little bit longer and sip my gin… Cheap drinks, rocking music… not my scene but plenty love it.

Leeds’ little boat-pub is one of the city’s not so well hidden charms — on Otley Road, almost in town, you will see a little barge sunk into a hilly piece of grass. And people drinking on top of it. Whaaat? It’s this novelty that gives the Dry Dock most of its charm — but being set in a boat isn’t the only thing this place has got going for it. On a Tuesday it does ridiculously cheap drinks(not as cheap as they were a few years ago, but still ridiculous), and throughout the week it serves good cheap ‘Scream’ grub. But it’s on those glorious sunny summer days where the Dry Dock really steals the show — if you’re lucky enough to be sat out on the boat’s decking on such a day, you’ll feel like your life is complete.

It’s gotta be done!!! Midday bevvy, in the city on a boat! Great stuff! For anyone like me that likes anything a bit different you have to check this out. With all the interior all nautically based this really is a cool experience. The vibe is very chilled out. Cheap beer and drinks are served as well as a tasty pub food menu! The food is tasty and the atmosphere is friendly! GOANDCHECKITOUT! Lovely way to spend an afternoon! (Wanna check out the boat on an evening’s on a Tuesday night for their student night with very cheap drinks and an alternative vibe… i thoroughly recommend it for the eye candy also(some very beautiful men and women!)

Yes, as has been said countless times before, it’s a boat. On a roundabout. In the middle of Leeds. But aside from these admittedly pretty hefty charms, the Dry Dock is pretty much your bog standard student bar. Not that that’s necessarily a bad thing; I spent a very pleasant afternoon here recently with friends when we just wanted some basic grub and a few beers — on the basis of these stipulations, it fulfilled our needs admirably and even left us change from a tenner. The terrace, built into the hill alongside the roof of the original boat, is a delight on a summer’s day, and the inside is bright and comfortable, with spaces for sprawling out with friends and more intimate corners. All in all, aside from the hideous wall-mounted screens that shove adverts and related nonsense in your face, its a perfectly agreeable spot for a drink.

Where else can you drink on a barge in Leeds? I, for one, do not know another like this place. It really is something special. Located just opposite one of the main Leeds Met Uni buildings, it’s a haven for the student population of the city. As a ‘Scream’ bar, it’s full to the brim with cheap booze and burgers and due to this fact, as well as that handy location, it’s pretty much Mecca if you’re a student in our fine city. Tuesday nights are pound-a-pint nights. Or at least, they used to be. Now they are one-pound-twenty-five-a-pint nights. But, y’know, £1.25 a pint still aint bad is it? Sitting outside on a nice day, you’ll be hard pushed to beat it. Inside, in December, when the students have got their muddy pointy shoes everywhere? I’m not quite sure. I’m a fan, but nothing’s perfect. The Dry Dock certainly has it’s place on the Leeds bar scene, that’s for sure.

One of my favourite pubs in Leeds, purely because it’s so unusual — how often do you get do have a drink in a boat in a city centre car park in one of the most land locked areas of England?! I like to sit on the deck, where you can enjoy the starry sky and there tends to be a great atmosphere. They have all sorts of events on, and when I went they had a membership card which got you discounts — but the drinks are really cheap anyway! The Dry Dock is a little out of the main area of nightlife, but it’s probably only about ten minutes walk, and worth every step.

The Dry Dock is student central and it doesn’t disappoint. Cheap drinks and cheap bar meals, it’s as good as any student pub will be. The place is certainly memorable for it’s décor, which is a boat with an? extension? on the side. It plays plays decent music, and there’s some pool tables too. It’s a good place to start the night before going somewhere else.

Probably a good venue for students but I find it too noisy and with a poor selection of beers. No real ales on handpump which was a disappointment. I probably won’t bother going again

If your a student, its the place to be! Tuesday nights are my favourite, extremely cheap drinks(£1 a pint), great music! The music is a bit loud, so dont expect much conversation. If your not a student, stay away, stay far away!

No, no, no, no, no, no. Good when you’re a student and all you care about it cheap drinks and novelty bars, but when you’re a proper grown up and want a nice drink in a relaxing atmosphere, with good service to boot, you’re better off going somewhere else. I’ll drink here if I’m sitting outside and someone else goes to the bar for me. And that’s it. I don’t like ‘It’s a Scream’ pubs with their horrible yellow marketing everywhere. And the toilets are always minging.
