Fabrication

Whenever I am stuck for a birthday gift, this is my first port of call. Such a beautiful and diverse collection of locally crafted items guarantees that I never walk away empty handed.
There is also something to suit every budget from kitsch little necklaces to exquisite handmade glass. It is great to see a collection of local designers/​crafters all under one roof.
I really must sign up for one of the many courses on offer, as they have such a fab selection.

I have to say, although having only been the once, I was instantly a fan of this fabulous shop. Along every wall you’ll spot home made trinkets, specially crafted delights, and lovingly crafted goodies that appeal to a wide range of tastes. It’s a pure treasure trove of locally crafted art work, paintings, crochet, knitting, jewellery, decorative pieces, hand bags, furniture and more.
Each section has its own personality, and the shop shines as a haven of talent, made up of the various creative items displayed within. I realise this perhaps speaks to those who enjoy pretty things a little more than those who don’t, but I’d whole heartedly recommend anyone wander in and take a good long browes — be it for gift shopping, inspiration, or simply to marvel at what can be created by our local talent.
What’s more, Fabrication hold regular classes, including sewing lessons, crochet and more. I’ve intended upon taking a class for some time, but haven’t found the time, although I’ve heard some very good reports from folks I know who’ve partaken. Essentially, I’ve wanted to learn how to sew for a while, since it’s one of the many talents my mother has that I didn’t take advantage of whilst at home, and would love to see if I can continue the trend. I won’t make a promise here in writing, but watch this space. I may be a dressmaker yet!

Good idea for a shop, full of smaller businesses and their craft.
had a wonder round, good for a casual time pass and FAB for buying presents but cant imagine getting much for myself.
They have plenty of crafty meetings and other such sessions which are worth looking in to.

Recently did some sewing classes with Fabrication and fell in love with their chic and kitch way. Down a secret alley, china tea cups and sauces and tons of beautiful costumes and clothes. Dawn has been designing clothes for many many years and has included celebs, theatre and tv to her costume belt. Her knowledge and skill was apparent and she took great time in supporting and assisting us.
I also learnt that Fabrication have workshops on making your own bath bombs and soaps using naturnal products so will be booking myself on them in the future. It’s also handy to know that Dawn is there should you want a unique piece of clothing made!
Classes are reasonably priced and you get a lot for your money.

Brilliant courses and really well priced its well worth looking into.
