Greggs on the lower end of the Headrow best known as Eastgate is an easy to access pastie and sandwich shop with reasonable prices. It is not that big inside and quite often the queue can go out the door but the queue does go down quickly and it is worth the wait for the hot and tasty food. My favourite is the chicken and mango big bite sandwich which you can get as a meal deal for £2.99 with a bottle of coke and a packet of crisps or a donut, which is a good deal as a coke alone is over £1. They offer cakes and buns and tasty hot pasties too with something to suit everyone.

This is a very small local version of the Greggs chain known nationwide. The offer a great range of sandwiches bakes and cakes. Some of which vary seasonally. They will sell their bead as loafs and bread cakes too. They have a very tempting display of buns and cream cakes too. Some items like cookies and flapjacks are available in multi-packs. They bake on site and make their own sandwiches through out the day so apart form the very height of the lunch time rush, there will always be a good, fresh choice including warm from the oven sausage rolls and steak bakes. When there is a long queue, you can find your self waiting outside(because of the size of the shop), so you can’t see the fridge and displays till you get in and are served, which can be a bit of a pain if you don’t know what you want!
