This Llittle Waitrose store is in central Leeds and is quite a nice store, it is only a small store so you can’t expect to do all your shopping here for the week. Despite being a small store, this Waitrose store has a small Gluten Free range and a good range of meals, not enough to buy for days on end but just something you can get to satisfy you for a day or two, just like any other small branch from a supermarket, such as Morrisons’ Local stores and Tesco’s Express stores. Something common with Waitrose stores is that card holders get a free hot beverage when they visit, this store had it but they did not have the machine, they had a desk with the beverage machines and somewhere where you can buy cakes, I got a Peppermint tea for what should of been £1.65, from your standard machine in a large store, you can’t normally get this and I also like how someone sorted the drink for you instead of just being stranded to do it alone, like in some of the larger stores. The woman who served me at the«Café», was very polite and kind, we had a nice conversation and the tea she made was very good, all the better with it not costing a penny. This store sells lottery, scratch cards and the everyday essentials you would call in a shop like this for, this store is not perfect as you can not do a weekly shop here but I can’t judge this store harshly because of it because it is quite a nice store and it wasn’t mean’t to be a place to do a weekly shop, it was built to be a small store to get everyday essentials in The Leeds town centre, I have to give this store 3 stars as some of the prices were far too expensive, that is what you can expect from Waitrose compared to ASDA and Morrisons for example.

This is my corner shop, so i’m pretty lucky I believe, you seriously struggle to buy something that isn’t tasty. Food standards are super high pricing isn’t over the top when you look at the quality, there’s always a few decent offers on, and wherever possible there are price matches. They simply have some things you cant get hold off anywhere else, if I was forced to complain I’d merely ask that they increase the size of the shop!

This shop is great, with it being in the city centre it is finally offering some competition to the well established Morrisons and the almost new to town store Sainsbury’s opened just around the corner. The store is very narrow and long with just 2 aisles all the way down. I think they are trying to put emphasis on the fact they have the bakery and the fresh food sections. With just a very small section at the back for non-food items. Its very much like M&S Simply food with the layout and design almost. Waitrose I find as the best supermarket for choice, they are doing very well with the prices and trying hard to portray there vision across to customers stating how they have allot of prices the same or cheaper than the giant that is Tesco! This store that opened(Today) is opening its doors just 8 weeks after there new store opened in Meanwood so I guess Waitrose is hitting the north in a big way! The Cora shopping centre where this store is based has been under mass development and Waitrose is the first to open its doors under this new location they have created. All I can say is I guess you have to try it. The staff have great smiles and I guess the new 60 positions they have created here are much appreciated in a city centre location. Thanks Waitrose!
