Pizza Base

Seriously, I don’t know if the people who run this place are on commission from the chilli marketing board or something, but they are determined to force-​feed people chilli. We thought we’d try somewhere different and, not being people who like spicy food, ordered a kebab without sauce and a spaghetti bolognaise. Food arrives in reasonable time, open box, and kebab has a pot of chilli sauce which has opened and spilled all over the kebab, plus a large quantity of a different red sauce.
I called them up. Apparently, when I asked for ‘no sauce, please’, they thought that I meant ‘put the chilli sauce separate, but add lamb tikka sauce instead’. In fairness to them, they offered to replace it. I then tucked into my spaghetti bolognaise, to find it full of chilli. This was hotter than a lot of chilli Con Carne I’ve eaten. I don’t get it — who puts chilli in bolognaise sauce? Who would expect to find chilli in a bolognaise sauce? The pasta was overcooked to the point of being mush and it was tepid at best, so that rendered the whole thing inedible.
So, if you like chilli, you’ll be in hog heaven. If not, then not so much. I was tempted to order some chocolate cake, ice cream and a milkshake to see if they put chilli in those as well.
