This is a great neighbour hood haughty to grab almost anything you need and some things you don’t. It has a great selection a beer and the bread is fresh.

So, a bit of a dull review today, comparative to other things but here it is. The Sainsbury’s Local on Stainbeck road has all the standard things you might be looking for. Good pointers include a reasonable selection of drinks, including a small variety of real ales. Win. The other noteworthy thing I noticed on my last visit was that these guys actually sell Tzatziki. Yup, for several weeks in a row the ma-hoo-sive Sainsbury’s in Headingley actually seemed to stop selling this vital and delicious fare, which annoyed me to no end. How can I made lamb pittas without ruddy tzatziki? Exactly. I can’t. Not even when I attempted to make my own.(It became a soggy random mess of cucumber, garlic, lemon juice and yoghurt. No fun at all.) So, it’s alright here. Parking is a veritable nightmare since the two entrances/exits go almost at a 90 degree angle into the road(one being Stainbeck, both RIGHT on top of the traffic lights) and there’s no space to turn, so patience and selflessness are required to navigate around the other drivers! Other than that, enjoy!
