Much better than the last time I was there. Have to say though inside looks quite dull, too many dark colours. Could do with brightening up a bit.

I am a bit of wetherspoons fan I must say. The main reason being they sell my favourite coffee Lavazza. The drinks menu is pretty large and very reasonably priced. There is a huge choice of ales, beers, wines and spirits on offer aswell as soft drinks and hot drinks. The food menu is rather large and they offer chicken club on wednesdays and sunday club. You can’t expect gourmet but the food is always nice and the portions sizes are large. Staff here are very friendly and always serve quickly and ensure you are satisfied with everything. My only issue with the food is the calorie content. I think it is good that they have added this to their menu but the sheer amount if calories do make me wonder… A jacket potato and beans here comes in at around 700 calories and some of the other jacket toppings push it to over 1000! Jacket potatoes are meant to be a pretty healthy choice it just makes me wonder what is added to make the calorie content so unbelievably high. I would definitely recommend this place for everything it has to offer but for your hearts sake I wouldn’t eat here too often.

Stick Or Twist is my second favourite of the Wetherspoon’s in Leeds. There a lots of comfortable little seats around and with free coffee refills until 2pm and free Wi-Fi, you can’t really go wrong. As far as chains go, this one’s alright. The food is pretty bog standard but good enough when you’re hungry enough. This place gets very busy when there’s a gig on at the Arena and service on a weekend takes a bit of a dip. The staff can be a bit slow and rude at times. If this place was located elsewhere I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to visit. There seems to be a wide selection of ales as with all Wetherspoon’s but not being an ale drinker I cant really comment on the value or the range. I like this place because it’s on my way home after a busy day of shopping. But that’s pretty much it.

I liked it in there, the staff were friendly, the service was very good, the price of a pint was very good and it is a very modern Wetherspoons pub with some nice features in it as well as screens showing the current news events!

The haven for the grovsnor casino. This was lil hangout when I first got to England because of the drop dead prices and the closeness of my wives work. They have the beer and a burger deal for a fiver if your in a pinch for lunch. Cheap beer prices and well if you been into a weatherspoons pub you know the deal here. It’s the same as everywhere but if you want a night out and you don’t mind the gamblers or the people the prices are worth it. The weird part for me was the selection of cask ales which in my opinion was very good. So this weatherspoons pub worth the 2 pound whatever you spend on a pint.

The Stick Or Twist is never empty. Why that is is hard to say. Is it the gamblers that fill it, who have finally decided to leave the casino to see the light of day before they slowly go insane? Is it the bankers from the surrounding Yorkshire Bank building? Is it just random passers by who have packed in the idea of shopping in the local Merrior Centre to go for a pint? This is an old-school Wetherspoons. Far removed from the new modern refurbs that have been storming the nation, Stick Or Twist offers no fuss typical Wetherspoons service at good prices.

Oh my god I nearly caught herpes just by going in this place once. The staff tried to make me buy a test tube cocktail that looked a bit like toxic waste and so I drank my malibu and coke(it was a long time ago) and ran away. Can this place be demolished as part of some kind of city centre redevelopment project please?

The Stick or Twist(so called because a casino is housed directly above it) is a cheap and cheerful Wetherspoons Pub which has a traditional feel to it. But not in the good way. The pub is fairly large and there is outdoor seating for smokers and summer drinking, even if the view is that of a multi story car park and a concrete shopping centre. There are no other pubs nearby and is not on a natural pub crawl so as a result is usually full of people with nothing better to do or people who work near by popping in for a drink. The pub feels quite dingy due to the dark décor and lack of natural light and the tables are quite often sticky or covered in beer. The range of drinks and the prices are reasonable but are similar to other Wetherspoon pubs nearby. The staff are usually good and get on with their job. Stick or Twist would be very few people first choice of location on a night out but overall it is not a great pub given that there are so many more attractive options in Leeds city centre.
