As the nearest shop to my friends old student house, we affectionately named Stop & Save ‘Narnia’. It’s shed-like exterior always manages to surprise as you open the door. The shop goes back a lot further than you’d expect. It is a typical corner shopping experience, somewhere that rarely manages to please fully, down to its limited selection and slightly higher prices than you’d find elsewhere. They do have a fantastic array of Rubicon, perfect for anytime of day and not a bad alcohol selection though. Their crisp selection may be unparalleled, but don’t expect anything fresh or filling to eat. Whilst they may have noodles and tins, if you’re looking for something really substantial to dig your teeth into, you’ll probably find yourselves drawn instantly to Royal Fisheries, just 2 doors down. I will always think fondly of Narnia, but it has never completely satisfied me as a shop.
