Well I’m not just going to stick to places I know I’ll love. I need to spread my net out wide and vast. That’s not to say I’m going to start doing anything illegal. Fear not, I’m a law abiding citizen. I wouldn’t usually try a place like the crunch bar though. It’s feeding time though so I’m thinking when in Rome or in this case Hyde Park. It’s pretty much chicken all the way. They steam their chicken before flame grilling it so claim to be super healthy. Either way if it’s chicken you like, then it’s clucking your way. Throw in spice if you want. I spice everything up and a nice bit of fire never goes amiss. Oh and the smoothies are good. I’m partial to some fruit action and I’d recommend Paradise Island. Well, I can’t say I was blown away. It is a chicken joint after all but it does what it says on the tin and never claims to do anything other.

The Crunch Bar… Chomp(love love love onomatopoeia, teehee), the bite mark branding appealed to me, so I thought I’d give it a go. Crunch Bar market’s itself as a healthy alternative to fast food, or food on the go, and is likely to appeal to the waistline conscious and calorie counting student types that surround the area, although with things like luxury coleslaw, barbeque lamb ribs, onion rings and other not so healthy food choices, it is hard to believe Crunch Bar’s honesty in it’s branding. There are meal deals to be had, paninis, salads, potatos, smoothies, milkshakes, fizzy pop and desserts to be had, none of which scream health food, but they’re there, so whatcha gonna do about it? It’s better than a lot of places I’ve stumbled across, but no more exceptional than the rest. Crunch Bar’s saving grace comes in the form of it’s grilled and marinated chicken, opting for one of the five marinades; Peri Peri, Barbeque, Greek Passion, Tikka Supreme or Spanish Garlic, of which the peri peri is tasty with a nice kick. If you go in you won’t be gutted at your choice, but if you walk on by you’re not massively missing out on anything

The Crunch Bar is yet another newly opened café in the highly student populated area that is Hyde Park. It, to me, just looks like another version of Subway. With the glass counter full of tubs of sandwich ingredients and bar-like seating across the window, it is just another sandwich bar. If you were desperate for something to eat then I’m sure it would do the job. The staff are really friendly and they sell Alibi, a pomegranate pre-tox drink which is really tasty.
