Old family friends remember this pub fondly, with statements of friendly faces /a hive of activity /hub of the community in Cookridge. This is a very good example of how time changes everything. As the name would suggest it is a creepy pub. For those of you who have seen Shameless it’s the first comparison I can draw. The locals are ‘full of character’ — avoid at all costs. I passed by here with family around a year ago, it was late and we dropped in for a drink before a home cooked meal. You would swear, judging by the looks we received from the locals, that I was stood on the bar, jeans round my ankles, relieving myself in a communal bag of pork scratchings. Never again. Note* I may obviously have arrived at a particularly bad night and or Land(lord /lady) and would hope if there is someone who does enjoy a drink there to mention so. Otherwise I will always have a tarnished image of a once loved public house.
