I haven’t been to The Olive Tree for a couple of years, so was worried that my great memories might not match current experience. Happily this was not the case. We were greeted with a smile, our coats were taken and we were offered our choice of table as the restaurant wasn’t overly busy. Our orders were taken promptly, but without us feeling hurried, and the waiter was very accommodating with my friend’s special request. We ordered off the early door menu(£14.95 for three courses); both starting with the toasted pitta and dips — not a terribly exciting choice, but very tasty and not too filling — followed by moussaka for me and salmon in a white wine and cream sauce for my friend. On both presentation and taste fronts the quality was excellent. Fortunately we still had room for desserts, with my friend opting for the aromatic Stafidhopitta and me the Greek trifle. If you love rose water, this is a must! To top the evening off, our coats had been hung over a radiator, so they were toasty warm — just what you need when heading out into the cold.

I’m quite impressed with the Greek dishes. I tried Keftedes and Seabass fillet and chips, both were delicious. Also the wine selection is good.

I’ve always wanted to try the Olive Tree but sadly I haven’t been before. We visited last week with a Groupon Voucher. Both me and my better half wanted the Meat Meze so we ordered that and some drinks. The Greek Salad, sauces and meats were absolutely delicious. We got 3 rounds of Meze for £18 each, at first I thought £18 was a little pricey but having eaten the food I don’t think it is. The quality of all of the food was excellent, all the meats were perfectly cooked, well seasoned and nicely presented. I’d had a really rough week and going out for dinner was a bit of a cheer me up activity, it definitely did that. I can’t wait to go back to the Olive Tree.

Very good greek restaurant. We went on a day trip into Leeds. I have been to the Real Greek and was a bit sceptic before going in. However the service was quality and the food was just as good. Very good

So my curiosity for Greek food led me to discover that I loved it. Curiosity killed the cat but there again I almost killed a cat once after an unfortunate incident involving a food blender and ice went wrong but my lawyers would rather I didn’t go into that. Instead I’ll tell you about the Olive Tree. It’s got quite a reputation has this baby so I went expecting to be let down. What can I say I’m on a downer vibe but I couldn’t have been more wrong. This one is the biggest of the few places it has and looks the part. They obviously need the room for all that plate smashing. We were sat down quickly and then it was time to plan my stomach assault. Oh my word and it was a stomach assault. We decided to get a whole selection of mezes and it was yummy down to the last crumb. Dips, salads and stuffed vine leaves which all packed some punch. I wasn’t actually that hungry by the main but they didn’t disappoint anyone in the party. The real crowd puller though was the desert. You have got to love home made baklava and boy did I ever. Next time I may just order three rounds of that. Immense but a heart attack on a plate. What can I say, I must be Greek. Get yourself down there.

I haven’t ever really heard a bad word about the Olive Tree restaurant, and after being rather partial to Greek food, but not really managing to find a place to indulge in this partiality, the Olive Tree was a fine place to go. When a food haunt manages to get listed in The Good Food Guide, you have to try it out before everyone starts to try it out. There are three Olive Tree restaurants in the Leeds area, and it matters not which one you go to for your food, you are always greeted in the same way, with open arms and smiley faces, really warm and welcoming, like a relative you love but haven’t seen in a while. Awh. Calling all students!!! Whip out your student card and get three courses for a tenner. Can you say bargain? Even the most strapped for cash student can afford this in order to eat well. And, it’s not a rubbish token menu, there’s some meat on this menu and it’s cooked beautifully, especially the lamb keftedes, the tomato sauce is a little orange, but who cares, it tastes delicious. The moussaka is lovely too, not nearly as greasy as I’ve had before elsewhere, and even the rice, which I wasn’t sure it came with, but it did, was lovely and flavoured too. Baklava to finish with can satiate even the sweetest of tooths, flaky, sticky, filled with nuts and delicious, all for a tenner. Non students can also grab a bargain, with the Sunday menu, three delicious courses for £13.95, and with slightly more on the menu than the Student menu, it’s just as lovely. With offers like this it’s really hard to say no to the three courses, and if you splash out on a couple of drinks, it’s three full courses with drinks for under £20. Fabulous. Being somewhat of a local legend, it’s always on the busy side, which is great for atmosphere, without being too much in the way of a racket.

A favourite of mine and my colleagues when I worked out in Bradford the service is brilliant and the décor really sets a lovely scene for a bubbly night out enjoying good food and fab company. The menu is wide ranging and there are student offers too. You can et your traditional Mediterranean delights such as calamari splattered with plenty of garlic, yogurt sauces, mousakka, olives and fresh tastes from limes and tomatoes.

Having moved slightly out of Leeds, seeing the Olive Tree in Rodley sent me a pang of nostalgia for the Headingley branch. Though absolutely enormous and grand by comparison, the Rodley branch is the first, set in a large Victorian building, adorned with victory banners! I just had to go. I was greeted by the friendliest of staff, in the grandest of settings, which fuses Victorian with Greek. We greeted and they seated me. I then promptly became aware of the sign that said«Available only at our Rodley and Chapel Allerton branches, we are offering our fixed price three course menu for £13.95 from Sunday to Thursday between 6:00 and 10:00pm.» BOOM! Being short of the cash-money to be eating out all the time, I could surely not refuse such an offer. Especially for 3 courses! I started with a mezze style starter, serving the finest houmous I have sampled in a long time, cooled perfectly by the in-house tzatziki, with warm pita. Mmmm… I opted for the chicken kebab as a main, and having lived in Greece, I can tell you, it marks up perfectly with one I could have had out there. It was not dry at all, perfectly seasoned and served with a sauce that I want the recipe to! I managed to swap my desert(seeing that I lack the obligatory sweet tooth at times, particularly when the main was THAT good) for a ‘special’ coffee, which was warming and perfect for the time of year I went. Overall, I felt as though i was about to walk outside into a mid-summers evening rather than a pile of snow. A fantastic flag-restaurant for a sublime set of Leeds-based Greek restaurants!

Good Greek restaurant, & even if you go with people who aren’t as keen on Greek food there’s stil something for them. Not too pricey, & a good menu both for evening & lunchtime

I have to admit, I’m not as keen on The Olive Tree as everyone else I’ve ever spoken to. The food is good, and the service is always excellent, but there’s still something lacking for me. Maybe it’s because every time I’ve been it’s either been impossible to move, or we’ve been the only people in there. It always seems expensive, parking is pretty bad, and the disabled access, while they are accomodating enough, needs looking at — we didn’t have enough room with 2 wheelchairs. However, the décor and food is authentic, and there’s a really good atmosphere.

What a great Greek restaurant. This place is generally packed out and booking is recommended. Not being the most knowledgable in authentic Greek cuisine, I was happy to try things I’ve not had before, including the clasic stuffed vine leaves. The food was gorgeous and atmospere was great. They had a guy who played music as he wandered around, this wasn’t intrusive though. Only down side is the parking can be a bit tight.

From the makers of the Quiet Greek in Bradford(now closed) comes the Olive Tree. This is an awesome Greek restaurant and is fastly becoming both mine and my wife’s favourite. We’ve been twice this year and to be honest it is pricey but the food is well worth it. The atmosphere is fabulous with a live bazookie player strolling round the tables most nights and even some spontaneous dancing now and again. i think the plate smashing isn’t allowed now due to health and safety. They do a lovely dish called Arne Mi Feta which is slow roast lamb stuffed with spinnach and feta cheese. get this with mixed veg and their own special Ratatouille for a greta filling meal. They habe a lovely selection of starters and all the main courses are outstanding. My wife loves their Souvalaki and Kleftico. Well be back soon!

This is a really nice restaurant — they used to have a small one near us in bradford called the quiet greek but it shut down and i really missed it so years ago i found this and like to go back now and then. The food is gorgeous — my most favourite is the baked potatoe — the way they cook it is divine — they then add some sort of sauce to the top of it and bake it again — it is yummy. The chicken is lovely too to go with my potatoe — just plain good old chicken roast but they roast it different so it tastes so nice. I like to wash this down with a bottle of their greek beer which is very nice and so strong i make sure i dont have too many — the missus says their home made punch is lovely too. The prices arent too dear and the staff are lovely and friendly and now and then give us a floor show of their dancing and music playing which adds to the atmosphere. They do do nights of their music but i havent been to one but the one off shows i have seen are brilliant.

If you like Greek Cypriot food this you will love this place. The Olive Tree has been around for about 20 years now and in my opinion it is one of the best places to eat in Leeds. When you go in the restaurant you can see on the walls that it was won several awards for its food, I’m not surprised as there is such a massive variety of a la carte menus even for deserts. They pride them self on wholesome traditional food and I must admit I was very impressed the dishes were delicious and the service was flawless. The restaurant has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere; it is ideal for dates or even a nice meal before hitting the town for a night out. This is one of my favourite restaurants in Leeds and if you have not been before then I definitely recommend it.

They also do good sunday lunches(with a Greek twist of course), usually a two course special. For ages had overlooked the one near Farsley on the ring road but had a good meal when I went, didn’t book, just turned up and they fitted us in the best they could.

A good night out for a group of friends, especially if you plan a rowdy time. The food is well prepared and very tasty and does not take long to get to the table. The Charlie Chaplin movies prove to be distracting for some. I have not been on music tradtional music nights but have heard it is good.
