Confusionary and noisy. You can’t always find what you’re looking for.

So, the first thing to note is that this is a Wetherspoons and there are no huge surprises as a result. The service is solid but not sparkling, the pub itself is standard Wetherspoons décor, and the menu is exactly the same as all the others across England. What I will say about this pub is that the beer is good and also local (more so than the other Wetherspoons in Leicester) with a decent range of ales from the nearby Grainstore brewery, which is located in neighbouring Rutland.
The atmosphere is pretty friendly but there are bouncers on busy (weekend) nights and the pub gets extremely busy. Despite this, the lack of music means you can still hold a conversation and the bar is unusually accessible despite the high volume of people. This is a good place to have a couple of pints before going clubbing or to a noisier bar.
The rest of the week, there are chances to grab pretty good and cheap meals. There’s the always-​available beer and burger deals (£5 for the standard combo or £6.50 for the gourmet version which adds onion rings and bacon). On Sundays, there’s a roast dinner option and Tuesdays and Thursdays are steak night and curry night respectively. All the deals include a drink and any of the real ales can be chosen, which is good if you’re into your beer!
All in all this is probably the best Wetherspoons in the city and definitely well placed in terms of clubs and night life. You could do a lot worse than pay it a visit!

Always start here on a night out in Leicester, or come on Saturday lunch if im ever in Leicester shopping. Great priced food and drink (especially the burger and a pint deal) Drinks are cheap, whether you want shots, jagerbombs, pints there all reasonably priced and usually in a deal if you buy more than one which is good. Only downside is if you look on the young side your guarantee’d to get ID’s every single time you go to the bar, even though there are bouncers on the doors which does become quite annoying and why we only stay for one or two drinks.

Nice place to have a drink. Can get a bit packed on a weekend but you can usually find a seat somewhere. Prices ok. Nice décor. No loud music blaring out so you can have a conversation. Toilets could be cleaner. Pretty much the same as the rest of the pubs in this chain.

The standard meeting point for many a night out. Like other Wetherspoons it is best known for its Cheap beer and this is not exception. the food is very reasonable and very tasty whihc makes it very good value. If you want a cheap might out without the frill this is the place to go. Quite often Wetherspoons tend to be a bit down market, this one I find doesn’t suffer so much from that.

A typical Wetherspoons pub really. It’s really close to work hence why I go there reasonably regularly and they at least have a decent-​ish covered smoking area out the back which is useful to know if you need such thing. Other than that, expect reasonably priced drinks and food, but often sullen bar staff and a colourful clientele!
