The Last Plantagenet

My first ever Wetherspoons so my feelings towards this place are slightly led by a certain fondness for a major (and unlike most still in existence) venue of my misspent youth!

We called it the airport departure lounge when we were younger which was very apt, but an unusual choice as none of us had done much in the way of flying at that stage of our lives. The description is still quite appropriate today, the feel is similar… there is little charm to the pub beyond my distant memories.

This is classic typical weatherspoons pub, very large and plenty of seating, drinks are cheap, food is perfectly average, staff are friendly and helpful; I would say the drinks are a little cheaper than some other Weatherspoons, this is extra good for a city pub, I have only ever been here in the daytime, but place seem to lack ambience, but is cheap; a few professional drinkers and a few people drinking coffee all day, but, mostly busy. I know people that travel to this pub just because its cheaper

I was happy to come along to this pub for a coffee or a drink to meet a friend, the staff are really nice a nd helpful, but am far from impressed when it came to the food.
The only thing on the menu that is any good is the all day breakfast or burgers witch come on a good offer as you get a free beer with a burger meal. However venture into salad land on the menu and you get a nasty sock. I had a tuna salad sandwich and was given dry bread with no butter and it was all served with a mouldy salad, I don’t just mean a bit dry I mean proper mould sitting on the cucumber and tomato.
This place is one of the wost so far in Leicester and I will never eat there again, as I was quite unwell after that visit.
