Extremely overpriced for a chain pub. Very average. Staff, food, drinks all average.

I was feeling a little naughty the day i went in here. I decided to order my drink using a very obsure dialect of Klingon. The person who served me did their best but only really uinderstood once i started using the universal translater. Credit to them for trying.

well the food is good and it’s 50% off on Mondays and it’s next door to Longbar where I’m there all day

Been to this pub for both food and for drinks with friends. The food is no better than mediocre. Its a lot more pricey than rivals such as JD weatherspoons or Yates but I wouldnt really say its much better The style of the bar is good, with dark wood and leather throughout, and for a drink its great. Plasma screen TVs and a nice area out of the front should we have sun shine! Families welcome although you do not see so many children as in some of the rivals

The Slug and Lettuce is located in the midst of a row of pubs and restaurants on market street in Leicester city centre. This can cause a problem for a nice dining experience especially if you wish to sit outside to enjoy your meal during the summer period. The pub is surrounded by two extremely busy pubs, which seem to be very busy in the day and heaving at night time. With all the noise problems can occur. The food offered here is pretty average really and you get very little for your money. Particularly poor are the vegetarian options on the menu, which is fine as i found when i got up and went two doors down to Mirch Masala :)

Yeah, it’s part of a chain, so you won’t get that personal touch, but for somewhere to chill out, have a few drinks and a bit of grub, it’s not bad at all. It’s 50% off food on Mondays, which makes it a bit of a bargain, especially as the goat’s cheese tostada I had was very yummy, and happy hour on cocktails from 5−8pm weekdays, which means that you can get a pretty good Woo Woo, Cosmopolitan or Long Island Iced Tea for only £3. A welcome addition to the(admittedly many) pubs around the city.

A bit of a faceless pub but it is a pub chain . Pub is clean and tidy, but lacking in atmosphere. The beer is quite expensive, so this is one for the pub crawl but not to stay all night.

Nice place, good if you just want tot chill out and have a drink with friends or colleages. In town, but not much different from the surrounding bars and pubs. Doesn’t really stand out but maybe thats not a bad thing.

This place has quite a chilled out atmosphere. Favoured haunt of local council workers, business people and 20somethings with nothing better to do. Quite nice décor, lovely huge lampshades and some nice local photography as artwork. Well stocked and well presented bar with a good choice of wines, but at £5.15 for a large glass of Pinot Grigio somewhat heavier prices than the area demands. Large and varied menu, however, we found the food slightly disappointing — the ‘buttery mash’ was dry and quite bland and the Thai Chicken curry was overcooked leaving the chicken dry and a bit tough. The two courses for £9.95 option isn’t too bad though and the desserts we saw being brought out looked OK, and reasonably priced on the two for one offer. However, the staff are attentive, the toilet provision ample and they have a nice little patio area out the front which is good for people watching down Market Street.
