Actually, we were in the suite for a private party on a Sunday afternoon. The ceremony for the Golden Anniversary was well managed by the staff and we were surprised by vegetables served at the table. Quality of the food was good, service pro-active and if there was a question, they were eager to assist. Overall impression was good, as when being in a party, these aspects sometimes suffer resulting in a kind of ‘plastic’ atmosphere. Thumbs up.

Good looking Hotel and room was fine and comfortable. Free WiFi. However the heating (I think) was noisy and droned/clattered on all night — not loud but disturbing for a light sleeper.
Evening meal too fussy for my taste and small portions — bar meals may have been better. Dauphinoise Potato shouldn’t be a smear of mash as far as I’m concerned.
Breakfast not good. No attention from staff at all, tables not cleared, as no staff couldn’t get toast or tea although I did find a pot of coffee when I went looking. I complained at checkout and it was deducted from bill without quibble.
