I use barnicuts in Newquay Cornwall and the food no matter what is always fresh and delicious good value for money

One thing I am eternally grateful for is that there are very few Greggs in Cornwall. This means that proper bakeries like Barnecutt’s are able to survive and thrive, and we can continue to enjoy decent food when we’re out shopping. Barnecutt’s is a great bakery serving a variety of hot food, bread and cakes, but what I really love is the pizza. For £1.50 you can get a decent sized slice of hot pizza. There’s tomato, cheese & pineapple, pepperoni and vegetarian to choose from, all delicious. The base is really thick, sauce full of flavour and they don’t skimp on the cheese. I cannot fault it. My only complaint is that you can’t buy full pizzas. Like a lot of their hot snacks, they are served to you in a 3 sided box for easy street-​eating and then wrapped in a paper bag.
The staff are friendly and everything is well made, super tasty and good value for money.
A word of warning for anyone hoping to visit the Liskeard bakery: get in quick before the lunch time rush or you might miss out on the good stuff!
There aren’t enough bakeries like this left in the UK and we need to support those we have left!

Fresh from the heated shelf, first bite did not present a good impression, it was merely warm and tasted very salty. The pastry was dry and hard like an overnight pasty, but I assume it is a result of a cold pasty. This is the first bakery that served me a cold pasty, so I decided to ask if they would just heat it up on the microwave before I complete this review. Unfortunately the girl at the bakery refused to do so, leaving me to drive it home 7 miles to complete this review. The steak was tender but over peppered. The potatoes and carrots were pleasant but on the saltier side. A hot pasty definitely taste a lot better then a cold one. All in all 2 stars for Malcolm Barnecutt Liskeard benchmarked against the bakeries in Looe, with a potential of a 3 stars, if it was hot!

Delicious Cornish pasties!!! For those who have never heard of Cornish pasties, they are basically oversized empanadas or baked pies filled with beef, potatoes and onions. Personally I prefer empanadas, but Barnecutt makes pretty darn delicious pasties with variety of fillings. According to my sister, it’s supposedly the best local pasty shop. I tried a few different kinds, and my favorite was beef curry! Very fattening, but hey, everyone should be allowed to pig out while on vacation! Screw diet, viva carb!!!
