From the outside, Crusty Cob looks pretty dull and old-fashioned, with its faded white sign and shop front completing a pretty simplistic look. Once you enter inside, the interior of the shop is similarly old-fashioned, reminding you of a corner shop from some kind of 70s comedy programme like ‘Open All Hours’. Despite this, Crusty Cob does have its charms as they offer a wide range of items all available in one shop for your convenience. They offer the usual selection of household essentials and tinned goods at a fairly reasonable price but as usual, you end up paying slightly more because you don’t have to traipse around the local supermarket for hours. Handily, they also sell a range of Satterthwaites pies and cakes, all of which are freshly made and very delicious; well worth the small price you have to pay for them and perfect for a little treat for yourself of a lunchtime if you have a sweet tooth.
