On a rainy day and in need of a stack of new novels or books to help with an essay, Formby Library is my venue of choice. The place is neatly organised, and they have a great range of fiction, non-​fiction, music and DVDs.
The place reminds me of hording home stacks of Nancy Drew novels.
You can usually find what you need in here, and if not, staff are friendly and willing to lend a hand.
The library seems to hardly ever be busy which gives it a peaceful ambiance.
A worthwhile local resource!

This little local library is fairly well packed with books. I think they’ve done a really good job of labelling everything as well so that both those who know the Dewey Decimal system and those who don’t can easily find their books – by number or by subject.
I thought they had a decent range of craft books as compared with most small libraries, though most of them were knitting and embroidery books, which don’t interest me that much.
The general fiction section was decent, as was the children’s section. Definitely a good small local library, and also worth a visit for those of us who have Liverpool library cards and like to pick up random books at one library and drop them back off at Central when we are done. ;)

What a funny little place this is! Its a hub of the community, thats for sure, and the staff are very helpful. There’s a lot of retired people in Formby nowadays, including a development just across the road, so there’s a big large print section. There are several computers too, as per the government’s policy, and staff I’ve seen have been very helpful, especially with older people, and are willing to keep children in line when they get too excited with the latest social site.
