One of the best meals in the UK. Jamie Oliver has perfected the art of quality food for a reasonable price. Started with the cheese board, which was pure heaven and decadent. Then I got the lunch-sized spicy shrimp pasta and it was out of this world. The flavors are complex and it’s rich without leaving your stomach achy. The red wines are fantastic, and the service is very good. The aesthetic of the restaurant is industrial-modern and way fun to take in. A must-do in Liverpool!

One of my favourite restaurants in Liverpool! Extremely friendly staff, brilliant atmosphere and food to die for. You cannot attend without getting the Ultimate Platter. It is unreal! And the olives! Oh my god. The best olives in the world. And the menu isn’t lying. The cocktails were gorgeous too! But drank mostly wine. The House red was surprising fab. Can get a bit pricey, but it is so worth it! I could eat there until I literally explode. Like a big Antipasto bomb. It also has a small gift shop at the front, so that if you are tempted to steal the branded hand towels– you don’t have to! Some great stocking fillers too! Great for family occasions, dates and work parties. I will go back again and again and again! If you like Italian then this place is for you.

Had to wait half an hour which is general as it was very busy. The setting of the restaurant looks nice, it’s very modern and the lighting is done right. The staff are very friendly and even though someone from my groups order didn’t come through they were very professional and they didn’t charge him and they gave him an order of chilli fries on the house. The garlic bread starter was incredible, you could taste all the flavours of traditional Italian garlic bread and the cheese on top was amazing. I highly recommend the steak friite meal, the chips were spicy but not overly hot but they were very crispy and the home made ketchup was so nice it went well with the meal. The steak was juicy and full of flavour and to any tourists or locals I recommend coming here as they have high standards and are as professional as Jamie Oliver would want them to be.

Had a lovely meal with my wife and daughter after an afternoon of shopping in liverpool. My wife and I enjoyed some really good pasta and we were also impressed with the kids menu. Our 3 year old was very happy with cheese and tomato pasta bake which was promptly demolished. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and we found the service to be very good. We have eaten here a few times and will happily do so again.

Was quickly seated but then waited 10 minutes without even being recognized by anyone. When the woman came to sit a couple next to us, I let her know and she then proceeded to handle our drinks and orders. Not sure what happened with the wait staff but she recovered well as she handled everything. Our food was very good. I had Jamie’s Italian Burger and I would order it again. Fries were clearly from a frozen bag. Overall good experience and would I return? Probably.

I went to this place a few years ago with some colleagues since we don’t have Jamie’s Italian in Manchester at that time. I had been to a few times since then for lunch or dinners. This is a decent Italian restaurant. The bread and olives are amazing. The main courses are properly cooked. No that impressed but the quality is consistent and good. It’s always busy every time I went. The staffs are very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is great.

Traveled from the US to London and trained up to Liverpool for one night only. With a single dinner to choose a restaurant for, I figured that I could certainly rely on the nearby celebrity chef restaurant to be enjoyable. Well…when approaching the restaurant, the hostess was trying to clumsily close a heavy door held open by the wind. As I neared, I was asked, «Is there something that I can help you with?» I replied, «a table for one, please» and was told to wait for five minutes somewhere around the almost empty bar(terrible draft beer selection) and a merchandise area. Once unceremoniously seated by the bothered hostess, I read over the menu. My server was apparently in a hurry despite the restaurant not being overcrowded. As it was my first time there, I had a couple of questions, but soon came to understand that her«I’ll give you a few minutes to look over the menu» was not a suggestion. When ordering, I asked for my server’s advice concerning two dishes and whether I could substitute the pasta type on one with cappellini. She hadn’t heard of this or «angel hair», but felt justified in snobbishly informing me that their pasta was made fresh daily. After placing my order, I never was spoken to again by my server and only saw her briefly pass by when she dropped off my change without breaking stride(yes, another restaurant employee provided my meal and bill; no, she never asked how anything was, etc.). Perhaps such appalling service could be endured should the food have at least lived up to the chef’s reputation. Rather, this was a glorified Olive Garden with worse service, marked up in price. Should Chef Jamie ever dine there in disguise, I would suppose that he would be embarrassed and wish to remove his name should he not see to substantial changes. Given the unlikely nature of such an event, I suggest that would-be diners steer clear of Jamie’s Italian in Liverpool and instead try ANYTHING else.

Ate here with 8 others and we all had an excellent experience. Our server Tom did a great job with such a big table. All our dishes were cooked perfectly and very tasty. Loved the interior and exterior design.

I like the atmosphere in this place. The wine was very good which impedes my ability to review the main course — the other 10 people I was with all thoroughly enjoyed their meals from steak, meat platters, pastas to risotto. The plank starters are a little pricey but a taste sensation :) Great for an entire evening out.

We were in Liverpool at the weekend, and one of our party is fairly fussing eater, so choices(barring greasy spoon cafes and wetherspoons/yates) were limited. Tried Jamies Italian on the Friday night. I had previously tried Jamies in Bath in 2010, and had low expectations of the one in liverpool. I was pleasently surprised, firstly it has a much better layout, more space between tables etc. The staff were super friendly, but this is Liverpool so that is expected. On to the food, I will talk about the good bits first, my starter of fried squid and the main of fish in a bag were excellent. The fish was truly beautiful, great sides steamed inside the bag, lovely strong caper/chilli tastes, and I could still taste the fish. Why on 3 stars, well I couldn’t do 3.5, and it didn’t deserve a 4! My 3 dining companions opted for the steaks which were in a word poor! The sirloin steaks were too thin, one was slightly over done. All 3 were covered in too much oil… Ah well stick to the fish if you go here and you will be happy!

While visiting Liverpool we were told that Liverpool One had anything we wanted to eat. So right that we ended up here twice in 4 days. The food was fantastic. The menu had something for everyone. From simple food to the extravagant. The staff was really nice. It is a bit pricey but you pay for quality food.

Da wir oft in Liverpool sind und langsam die Nase voll von frittiertem Essen hatten sind wir nun auf der Suche nach Restaurants gegangen wo man vielleicht etwas ausgewogener essen kann. Da Jamie Oliver ja nun ein Begriff ist und durch seinen Kampf gegen schlechtes Essen auf das Gesuchte hoffen lies gingen wir zu viert in das Lokal. Nach kurzer Wartezeit bekamen wir einen Tisch auch ohne Reservierung und bestellten zwei gemischte Vorspeisen und verschiedenen Hauptgerichte. Die Vorspeisen waren vielleicht ein bisschen wenig aber durchaus sehr Italienisch und sehr lecker. Über die Hauptgerichte lässt sich auch nicht wirklich klagen, meine Freundin schwärmt sogar noch heute von den Kürbis Ravioli. Auch der Wein war sehr gut trinkbar. Leider war es sehr laut in dem laden und die Kellner waren mehr als gut beschäftigt. Dennoch werden wir da bestimmt wieder hingehen auf der Flucht vor frittiertem Essen

I do not know who Jaime Oliver is, so this review is not biased. I was not really impressed with this restaurant. The ambiance was there, but the food was not. We are used to having a free bread spread every Italian restaurant we go to, so it was kinda disappointing not getting one, so we were forced to buy one. It was good, but having crispy bread sticks do not bode well with an oil spread. I had the bolognese, which was good, they added bread crumb and it was a great touch, but the pasta was too al dente for my taste and the portion was small even after they charge so much for it. I would suggest to try it once, but its not a restaurant anyone should frequent

Jamie Oliver hat mehr oder weniger überall in England gute Restaurants eröffnet. Er ist stark durch die italienische Küche beeinflusst und hat sehr viel dazu beigetragen, dass die englische Küche, die vor 30 Jahren im Durchschnitt noch abgrundtief schlecht war, sich erstaunlich hochentwickelt hat. In Jamies Italian in Liverpool hatte ich als Primo Pesto Mozarello Bufallo and als Secondo Truffle Tagliate. Es war sagenhaft, speziell natürlich die Trüffel. Auch die Buffallo war ein Genuß. Das Restaurant ist manchmal sehr voll. Es umfasst zwei Stockwerke und bietet im Sommer auch draußen auf Paradise Street, eine der Haupteinkaufsstrassen Liverpools, Tische an. Der Service ist gut, obwohl die Kellner manchmal eine Weile brauchen, bis sie sich durch die Menge gequält haben. Die Preise sind angemessen, da die Qualität wirklich gut ist. Ich habe zum Beispiel weniger als 20 Pfund bezahlt.

I’ve no inclination to put any more money in Jamie Oliver’s pockets. With countless cookbooks, TV series, documentaries, adverts, cookware and restaurants dotted across the world, I think he probably has enough cash to dig the U.K. and U.S. out of recession and back into credit. I’m also sceptical if he ever actually cooks in any of his restaurants since he has so many in difference locations around the world now. The problem is, his food is so darn good I’m finding it hard to stay away from Jamie’s Italian. I can take or leave the fresh pasta, the lovely deli boards and the divine chicken caesar salad. The thing that makes me walk back through the door and queue patiently with all the other suckers /die-hard foodies, is his perfectly grilled burgers. Topped with melted fontina cheese, spicy tomato salsa, crispy fried onions, thin slices of salami and dill pickles, they are S*U*B*L*I*M*E. Add a glass of prosecco and a portion of crispy polenta fries with shaving of parmesan and rosemary salt and I am in Jamie heaven & hell at the same time!

I have to agree with Liam M’s review on this one. Although I am a fan of Jamie Oliver, his Liverpool One restaurant of Jamie’s Italian doesn’t work for me. I have visited this restaurant on a few occasions: the first of which I couldn’t be let in for safety reasons because the kitchen was billowing with smoke(I was quite shocked to witness this but understood this was an accident). Secondly, I tried to get in for a drink at the bar but it was full so I wasn’t allowed in(fair enough). Thirdly and finally, I managed to order a dessert and because it was busy again, I decided to get something quick instead after all the rigmarole I’d previously encountered. Unfortunately the service was slow and I was made to wait a good 15 – 20 minutes for a gorgeous sounding but simple portion of Tiramisu, which was mediocre as it lacked punch. For an average of £5 per dessert, I would be lying to say that’s value for money. As much as I’d dare go back again, it would be a gamble.

I have always had a deep seated dislike for Jamie Oliver, maybe it’s his cockney wide boy charms or his stupid haircuts or the fact he likes to be known as the naked chef despite the fact it is an image none of us would ever like to see but whatever the reason this has always been my opinion. Having visited his Italian restaurant in Liverpool One I have to say that my opinion has not altered one tiny bit. This place feels fake and the fact that they try to describe it as funky as well as rustic brings me close to vomiting as I do not see what is Italian about that. The food itself is actually okay but the gimmicks and theme to it just makes it all feel a little bit wrong. I daresay a lot of people will eat here and enjoy the food served but for me personally it is not the place to dine Italian and it certainly is not funky or rustic.

I have since been here a second time with two friends. We were seated straight away and waited 15 minutes for somebody to come an take a drinks order from us. Nobody turned up and the table next to us saif that they had been waiting even longer! Escuse the pun but it looks like due to the sheer size of this restaurant, they may have bitten off more than they can chew. We walked out after waiting over 15 minutes for a drinks order!

What? All that time waiting and no chicken dippers? Did I miss the point of Jamie Oliver’s crusade or was he not trying out for the role as the new Captain Birdseye? Big queue so with a big apetite and big expectations we eventually got a table. Rustic and simple is the order of the day and Italian seems an easy option but to give them their due here the food was good — I haven’t had Italian in a while and was pleasantly surprised — as it’s usually a lot more stodgy and cheesey but the meals of Panzanella Salad and Beef Carpacio Salad were light and full of fresh flavours, very good for a summers day. We couldn’t get a speck on the patio which looks across L1 but the inside is just as nice with tables close — not too close — together in a very informal setting.

–Jamie’s Italian is set in the heart of Liverpool ONE. The brain behind the brand has experienced several successful Italian cookbooks and decided to establish this restaurant opposite John Lewis with an Italian focus. The interior décor has been described as a bit austere and industrial, but at the end of the day this isn’t an actual Italian style restaurant, it’s a restaurant with an Italian focusing trading on the name of a celebrity chef. Our lunch was professionally laid out and tasty enough to warrant the higher price. The house white wine was excellent and recommendable, as was the service by the friendly waiting staff. Contrary to a few previous reviews my experience of Jamie’s Italian was a good one, justifying the slight inflation for the experience and quality. I’d recommend avoiding the obvious outside seating and head upstairs which is a bit nicer and a tiny bit more authentic with different meats hanging above the bar and a cosier environment.

I love Jamie Oliver, especially his series Jamie at Home and so I had pretty high expectations of the quality of food when I came here. It’s rustic and simple with modern touches, the no-booking thing can cause a little bit of waiting time but it’s worth the wait. I have no problem sipping wine at the bar in anticipation. The starter was divine. We had squid, and speciality olives which came on ice with a caper paste and nachos. The main however, was slightly too simple, the kind of food you could cook for yourself although still tasty, a little bland. Now the dessert was the saving grace. Chocolate and amaretto raspberry brownie with vanilla ice cream. I am in heaven thinking about it. To be honest, I would come here everyday for dessert alone, can I get away with asking for the dessert menu first? Scrumptious and definitely has me wanting more.
