Jessops is a specialist photography shop that is well respected. They have a huge range of items for professionals and amateurs alike. They stock film and digital camera, lenses, film of all different kinds, photographic paper, photo frames, photo albums and projectors. They have an instant photo printing machine for digital images and they have a film processing service which isn’t cheap, but is of an excellent quality and if they say your prints will be ready at a certain time you can guarantee they will. The staff are friendly and helpful. They are very well trained and knowledgeable about all aspects of photography and equipment.

OK, Jessop’s is great for a number of reasons! They offer very affordable instant printing off of any digital camera memory card, they offer affordable development of traditional camera films and throwaway cameras, they sell a range of digital and non digital cameras, any they’re helpful and in a great location. They also stock photo frames, digital photo frames, tripods and specialist bits and bobs for photographers and budding photographers. They can print out all the pictures on your digital camera instantly, and can also print off all of the pictures on your mobile phone via Bluetooth or your phones memory card. You can expect to wait up to a day for traditional developing from film, but the developing process is top of the range and very affordable. You can often get your films developed within a few hours, and due to the location of Jessops, you can go for a wander through the city while you wait!

Jessops is a well reputed and respected photography shop, but unfortunately the prices reflect this. While there are occassionally some great offers on cameras and camcorders(as well as external photography equipment) the prices are generally rather high. Personally I would prefer to keep smaller businesses trading and plough my wealth into their pockets rather than multimillion corporation and supermarkets, but at the end of the day, a price difference of double, even triple figures is appealing and I always end up buying elsewhere. The staff have always been quite helpful when I have been in browsing, though not remarkably so, and the stock is not demonstrably extensive; there a few digital cameras and a few SLRs but when you consider the range actually available this is poor, especially for a specialist store.
