Peking Palace is the first shop at the top of Aigburth Road. It is a bit out of the way compared to the chip shops on Lark Lane, but it is well worth the extra 5 minutes walk, or getting off the bus 2 stops early in my case. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and are happy to have a chat and a bit of banter with you whilst you are waiting for your order. They have a huge selection of dishes and sides available. Everything I have tried from here has been delicious and cooked perfectly. After a few visits we caught on to the telephone ordering and we now give them a call before we leave the house. Most times our order, no matter how big it is, is ready when we get there.

Peking Palace is the friendliest chippy I’ve ever been to, and I’ll tell you why! I One night me and my house mate were staggering up Aigburth Road after a heavy night on Lark Lane. We only had a bit of change on us so we ordered Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings and Salt and Pepper Chips. The lady behind the counter said that they were about to close and did we think we could manage more food? They obviously had some spare portions to get rid of so we jumped at the chance. So for the £3 we paid, we left with a large portion on salt and pepper chips, a portion of char sui rice, some potato cakes, some salt and pepper ribs and salt and pepper chicken wings. Needless to say we were stuffed and eternally grateful! We’ve used this as our local chippy since and the food is fantastic! They let you pre order on the telephone and they serve a number of special banquets for groups or individuals. They also have a special lunch time offer from Mon-Sat between 11.30 and 2, whereby you get a free can with any main course ordered. Bargain!
