So generic in its name and produce it’s hard to believe that The Corner Shop can’t be seen in the background of panels in the Beano. Believe me, I’ve checked. This is where you buy your issue of The Daily News, a box of Cereal-Os and a refreshing can of Soda Drink. Selling everything you could possibly need before you realise you’re going to have to go out of your way to get it, this is a store that cares not for your typical kind of shop layout. Sweets will sit next to carrots and birthday cards can be found right next to packs of screws. It’s like a shop a bunch of mates have made out of things they found in their flat, in the hope it will fool passers-by. It worked on me.

Simple and standard. Would be the description for you average Corner Shop, the shop on the intersection between Lawrence Road and Gainsborough road seems to enjoy breaking the status quo. Stocking a range of different items on the inside, this small shop also offers hardware and DIY products on the inside, brightening the outside with hanging baskets for sale along with other plants too. A mixed assortment of fruit and vegetables run all the way around the corner shop that seem to be fresh and of decent quality, prices are also reasonable. The interior of the Corner Shop is fairly densely packed with more than what would be expected, an interesting change from the monotony of other small newsagents. This well presented shop stands out in a really colourful way in what could be considered a fairly grey kind of street.
