The Deli is another independent business that specialises in cheap and cheerful tucker for locals, workers, students and those nursing a bad hang-over. As well as a great selection of fresh wraps, ciabattas and sandwiches, they sell bacon butties, sausage butties, egg butties and a gut-busting breakfast barn with all three and black pudding. Even better, they sell them all day. Prices are rock bottom and they sell strong coffee and tea too. The only catch is there’s no seating so it’s take-away only.

Wow, there are certainly a lot of fast food outlets and takeaways along Smithdown road, how can you possibly choose just one? Well just try them all, balance it out with a bit of running in Mystery Park and then you’re sorted. This is a particularly modern looking Deli and as mentioned in another review, you really are struck by the cleanliness of the place. They serve a wide range of sandwiches and barms and the service is very friendly and personable. I would also recommend their breakfast barms as I’m a huge fan of a stodgy butty to sure the ills of the previous nights drinking sessions. I’ve visited this place a few times and I’ve never been disappointed by the selection, the taste, or the price! Great Stuff!

Yet another delightful take-out store I have to pass on my way home. It’s a modern miracle that I’m not the size of a house! The Deli is incredibly cheap and very handy for lunch-time. You can get a great sandwich with pretty much anything you want on it. It’s particularly handy at breakfast time when you want a nice greasy bacon barm. Service is excellent and efficient, and what strikes me most about the place is its cleanliness. I hate when you walk into an establishment that serves food and it’s grotty and disgusting. This is obviously a well-cared for deli. I’m practically a regular!

A little take-out sandwich shop on the corner of Smithdown, The Deli is cheap and cheerful. Check this out, £2.30 for a Breakfast Barm(two sausages, bacon, egg, black pudding & toms.) Oh lordy, heart attack on a barm, however, it’s soo good! They also have a huge range of sarnies, scouse and cheesy meatballs on offer, you can get some pretty good deals, it’s great for that self-indulgent snack after a hard morning. Treat yourself at brunch!
