I absolutely love this shop, it is traditional and all the better for being so. A shop with character is a rarity these days and Clare’s has it in spades. Good quality products, and great kitchen dept. Also nice handbags and accessories. Clare’s has the only lift that I will go in; a lovely old open one that adds to the fun of shopping there. Long may it continue!

This is like something from the Are you being served age of a old department store. Its a refreshign change to go somewhere like here and have an enjoyable shopping expirience if such a thing exists. We have been here on a numerous amount of time when the better half had dragged me in here to just have a look. The staff are well liked and conversation is quickly establidshed not like some of the other stores who employ teenagers with attitude. Three floors are served with a lift in the middel of the store to save the legs. Great place if you r after a gift or something for the loved ones.

If you like good department stores then this is the shop for you. I love this shop, even though it has been updated it’s still like stepping back in time and I expect to see Mrs Slocombe :) There is an old fashioned metal see through lift that will take you to the various floors. This shop sells good quality at good prices. The staff cannot do enough to help you and are always very friendly

This used to be a rare type of shop — been updated over the past ¾ years, so not quite as old fashioned as it was. Its set on 3 floors and has one of those old, quaint, cage type lifts that takes about 4⁄5 people — worth going in just to use this! The shop sells; clothes, leather goods, gift items, china, household goods etc. Not as many as before, but its still a good shop.
