An excellent event held at Stradey Park Hotel on October 1st2009 showcasing some 80 plus wines. The event was 3 and a half hours in length with a five pound admission fee(with proceeds going towards the Save The Children charity). The event was on behalf of the Wines of Chile organisation which represents Chilean Wine traders in the country and was staged by the local trader QP Wines of Llanelli. The event attracted a mixed crowd composed of connosieurs/wine buffs, people in the wine industry/trade, business/corporates sector and wine novices. The setting was both formal and friendly in the function room at the hotel. The selection offered a mix of wine varieties like Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Shiraz, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and lesser known ones like Carmenere & Malbec from different regions within Chile. There was also a selection of Welsh cheeses to compliment the wines on offer. Literature was also present to further educate the guests and enhance the appreciation of the wines in addition to the educational speech midway through the event. Myself and my friend thoroughly enjoyed the event and awaiting with anticipation the next forthcoming one hopefully in the near future.
