So I am local, and its is always good to know where the locals eat… well for me it Gales. Fantastic food and an astonishing wine list, friendly unpretentious service. No you can’t book and yes it is incredibly popular. So arrive late and you’ll have to wait for a table, especially at weekends: but don’t let that put you off necessarily as the food is so good it makes it worth it.
It is quieter early lunch time, and early evening, so choose some good company get there early and settle in for a while.
The prices are reasonable and the portions generous… Good honest food nuff said really.
