There can hardly be a more beautiful setting to chug through on a steam train, taking in the views of the river, the hills, the castle above. Staffed by passionate enthusiasts, the station is a lovely trip down memory lane, the trains immaculate, the station café pleasant and reasonable. Imaginative use of the trains for special events and weekends mean that Llangollen is often full of flag waving, beaming children, heading for the Thomas the Tank trains, or mysterious adults, lurking their way towards the Murder Mystery locomotive. The railway is one of the biggest draws to this town with so many other great attractions.
