Leon

Good to see more than just the usual suspects at Heathrow with Leon one of the better fast food chains in London. Very disappointing, though, if they just let things run out without restocking — this does not happen in the regular branches. Two of the three drinks in this case. Very disappointing to have to sesort to Costa Coffee next door for a lemonade …

Had a very tasty breakfast, egg and bacon muffin sandwich, which had a nice sundried tomato sauce on it. The coffee was also great, cappuccino and the flat white. Great place while waiting for your plane in the morning.

I enjoyed my breakfast here and was overjoyed that I can have a heathy and very tasty breakfast for a reasonable price.

Nach einer langen Geschäftsreise und der damit verbundenen kollektiven Völlerei war ich auf der Suche nach einem nicht zu schweren Abendessen und einfach mal etwas «Neuen». Weiteres Suchkriterium war die geringe Zahl GBP, die ich noch in meiner Hosentasche hatte und gern loswerden wollte ohne nochmal
Die obligatorischen Flughafen-​Sandwiches mit Chips kann man irgendwann nicht mehr sehen und ich werde auch den Fakt, dass manche Menschen eine Tüte Chips als Beilage bezeichnen, niemals akzeptieren. ;)
Nachdem ich einige Runden durch das Flughafenterminal gedreht habe, entschied ich mich aufgrund der interessanten Karte für «Leon».
Gesundes, schmackhaftes Fastfood, welches preislich auch noch völlig angemessen ist.
Ich hatte das Thai Green Curry und dazu einen Erbsen-​Minze-​Salat, welcher sehr erfrischend war. Sehr lecker. Die Portionen waren genau richtig.
Bei der nächsten Reise werde ich mich wieder dort verköstigen lassen.

«Gesundes» Fast Food. Zu empfehlen sind die Süsskartoffelfalafel und das Thai Green Curry.
Als Meal Deal inkl Side und Softdrinks zahlt man knapp 3 £ mehr– lohnt nicht! Die Fritten waren so «fast» dass sie kalt waren. Der Quinoasalat war ok, muss aber nicht sein.
Lieber mit Kreditkarte statt mit € zahlen, der Umrechnungskurs ist Wucher!
Ansonsten ist der Laden stylisch aufgemacht und das Essen mutet gesund und trendy daher.
Die Preise sind Flughafen UND England entsprechend unangemessen hoch.

I got the falafel hot box and goji berry juice, came to over £7. Falafel was nice but cold, red pepper rice was grainy and salad was ok. I liked the look of this clean-​eating place, so I’ll give Leon a second chance in the future.

Lots of gluten free & healthy options! Had breakfast here & dinner at one of the restaurants in London. Had more gluten free options at Leon than most places back in the States!

Nothing like oatmeal porridge done right (blueberry, toasted nuts, honey), a spot of tea and The Clash on the air for my last morning in London!
Stopped at Leon before my flight back to the US. They had a selection of quite reasonably priced (for London) items ranging from poached eggs, porridge cooked with milk, to smoked salmon muffin.
The girls behind the counter were so nice. I mean, they were working 7am Sunday! Bless their hearts.
A good sign of whether it’s a good restaurant is whether the airport workers eat there. In this case, all the bobbies were grabbing their morning teas/​coffees here. Very good sign as those fellas are pretty disconcerting!
Only minor criticism is that the porridge is quite rich — cooked with lots of cream or milk — tasty as it maybe, I am a lactose fiend and my tummy was struggling a little on the flight.

Der Flughafen Heathrow bietet etliche kulinarische Optionen für einen Snack oder auch eine volle Mahlzeit vor dem Abflug. Beim Leon gibts eher gesündere Sachen wie Currys und zwar in netten kleinen Pappschachtel verpackt. DIe Verpackung tröstet etwas über die recht kleine Portion, aber leider nicht über den sehr faden Geschmack. Der Preis ist dafür mit knappen 5 Pfund für ein Curry sehr zivilisert. Dennoch würd ich denke ich nicht nochmal kommen weils vom geschmacklichen her wie gesagt einfach keine berauschende Erfahrung war.

Ever since I met the owner of Leon on a night out once, I’ve just loved Leon more and more and more and vowed to go to every branch and try everything from the menu. His name is Henry and he’s honestly the most passionate person I’ve ever met. Leon is the best chain of its kind. I love it.

Had breakfast here in September when flying out of Terminal 3. I was attracted by the signage alluding to something like «from the farm to our table» — you know, some come-​on beckoning the locavore foodie (read easy mark) like me. As I got closer, I saw that they had all kinds of tempting offerings, both healthy and otherwise. I opted for healthy — a fresh orange juice (quite nice) and porridge (oatmeal to my fellow Yanks) with honey, blueberries and seeds (utterly delicious and of very appealing texture).
It was a very reasonable (by London standards) five pounds and change. Service was quick, too. Oh — the unhealthy offering I remember was a very British bacon sandwich. They also had very tempting poached egg «cups» with all kinds of toppings. I would definitely recommend this place to those seeking a quick, healthy (or not) and reasonably priced breakfast at T3. I assume they have other food throughout the day and I think they try to source their ingredients well.
One word of warning — this is before you get to security, so make sure you have enough time before your flight to eat here.
