Decent brownie, excellently served with a dollop of cream. Sadly the coffee was disturbingly watery and tasteless. The atmosphere is nice, and I especially like the comfy chairs by the top of the stairs. Skip the coffee, come for a beer or a bite.

In love with this little place! Headed in late afternoon well in advance of a cabaret show, staff were super friendly, really nice range of drinks in particular, both alcoholic and non. I had the«pimped up» mac and cheese with goats cheese and bacon, super value and comes with a side you get to choose. I was carrying lots of bags and they were helpful with those too, nice atmosphere and super little venue downstairs too!

Quite simply the friendliest place in Leicester. They offer fabulous coffees all fairtrade and a delicious selection of homemade cakes every day. If you’re looking for something more substantial, they have a decent food selection, with many American inspired dishes, like Sloppy Joes! I can particularly recommend the Quesedilla filled with cheese and black bean salsa this is big enough to satisfy most appetites and comes with yummy sour cream, guacomole and salad. They also have a fab cheese board the most difficult thing is deciding which three of the huge selection you will try this time! The Cookie is more than just a café however, you can get a beer, glass of wine or spirit to drink there also, and in the evenings the place is often transformed into a venue, hosting top comedy acts, live music, and even a local knitting group! A great place to meet up with friends as well as making new ones, I really can’t recommend the Cookie enough!

This coffee shop is independent from Dominoes Toy Store but accessible from inside, as well as from the High Street. It’s just had a refurb so is really nicely decorated, and has a good selection of yummy food such as sandwiches, panini’s, baked potatoes, cakes etc and a really good selection of coffee’s and hot choc’s etc. And, reasonably priced too. The only problem is it’s in domino’s so your little ones might be whinging the whole time to go in there(mine was). Children are obviously welcome given the location. It’s a shame that there are only sofas with tiny tables not suitable for eating at, but I think it was a space issue. Staff extremely friendly and helpful, highly recommended place all round.
