Hidden underneath popular local restaurant Manuka Kitchen is a new basement bar specialising in all things gin — from fine gins muddled on ice to delicious gin cocktails to straight up gin for the braver of us. It’s a delightful, lowly lit space that purposefully evokes a different time and the relaxed feel of a parlor or upmarket living room. Bar staff are polite and attentive, providing complimentary decanters of chilled water alongside your gin selections. Having been on a date and with friends, I can confirm that it’s very much more suited to the former — so if you’re looking for that wow factor date, go on and lead your chelsea darling here for a cosy pre dinner cocktail or nightcap.
