My favourite all time African Resturant in Euston. This place has an amazing spiritual vibe. The owner in super friendly and the little Resturant is surrounded with wooden carved artist ornaments, status’s and wall decorative items from Africa. If you are into art and creativity, ask the owner to take you in the basement — its filled with amazing art work :) Lovely wooden tables and chairs. It’s a nice cosy vibe and perfect if you are on a first date :) The food is truly delicious and spicy :) Highly highly recommend it. Note: this is a tiny Resturant with 5 tables in total so may not be suitable for large groups of friends.

This restaurant is great! The service was very kind, helpful, and attentive. The food was delicious. Everything is reasonably priced and portions are well sized. We are traveling from the US and will absolutely recommend it to others!

Quick glance: + good value + authentic and bold flavours + hidden gem near Euston Station + friendly owner Full review: If you weren’t looking for it, African Kitchen Gallery can be easily missed for a art shop from the outside. It’s tucked away on a quieter street near Euston Station, just far away enough from the throng of tourists and commuters but close enough for a quick meal before catching your train to your final destination. The venue is small, with less than half a dozen of tables. The owner takes reservations, although we didn’t find It necessary for a party of two on a Monday early evening(6pm), as we were the first patrons for the dinner seating it would seem. Consequently the proprietor gave us the warmest welcome and attention as we deliberated on the menu. The menu itself isn’t very large, but as I didn’t really know African food I found it hard to choose. The owner, though, heartily made recommendations, including starters/sides that would go with our selection of main. In the end, I went for the jerk chicken while my friend had the curry goat. The jerk chicken was spicy and bold indeed! Not for the faint hearted, but the heat doesn’t linger for very long before I felt compelled to go for another bite. The goat curry was amazing too — tender and chinky pieces of goat in the most flavoursome blend of spices. If you like sweet and the fiery taste of ginger, I also recommend the homemade ginger beer. To end the meal, the owner gave us a complimentary dish of coconut dessert that really sweetened the deal. Altogether, the bill came to about £30 for two sides, two mains and two drinks. Great value for central(ish) London!

We’ve been in London for about five weeks now, and one of my only regrets is that we didn’t visit the African Kitchen Gallery until our trip was nearly over. This tiny restaurant has some of the best food we’ve had here, and hands-down the best service we’ve had anywhere. The chef/part-owner, Antonio, is charming and warm, and we spent a wonderful couple of hours chatting with him over moiy moiy, spicy lentils, and goat curry. We won’t be forgetting the experience!

We had a great feed on food’s we’d never tried before. Thanks for being patient with our son who is fussy. Loved the flavours and textures of your food, a must visit spot to anyone going to London.

We had such a lovely time and delicious meal in this tucked away gem. Charming, unique, tasty and with attentive service – me and my visiting friend from Italy were so happy to have made the trip out into the rain. If you love dynamic favors and off the beaten path experience, you will truly enjoy a meal here. Tiny restaurant, so we phoned ahead for reservation with no problem.

WOW! We have eaten in restaurants all over the world and we were surprised that this gem hasn’t shown up on Unilocal yet. We only stumbled across this place due to the large number of great votes on TAUK. Probably the smallest restaurant we have ever eaten in with only 4 tables. Can probably only accommodate a total of 13 people when absolutely full. We tried walking in on a Saturday night and were turned away because he was already full. We returned on Sunday without a reservation and had an absolutely fantastic time. All the dishes are prepared during the day and they are heated via microwave upon ordering them. Sounds funky, but it works really well. We had an appetizer along with 2 mains and desert. Every dish has the most unique flavors that absolute tantalize your taste buds. The white wine we had with the meal completely matched the amazing spice that Antonio uses in his dishes. We were leaving the next day, so we couldn’t return, but if we ever come back to London, we will definitely come here again. If you are staying at the Ibis hotel at Euston station, this place is about a 1 to 2 minute walk down the street and you can’t go wrong. Thanks Antonio for a fantastic culinary adventure through the land of Africa.
