I’m pretty fussy about fish and chips and don’t have it often. When I do it has to be perfect, so here is where I come. The gents in the shop are friendly and accomodating and always happy to cook from fresh. The chips are perfect and the battered fish is crispy not greasy. Plus they serve wallys and ginger beer. Simple inside, clean and welcoming.

You don’t go here to dine. You go to grab a bite in your otherwise workaday schedule. And in this capacity, Alex(APFC) works. They have lunch specials featuring combos + soft drink for around 5 or 6 quid. They serve it within a few minutes. And the people are nice. Is Gordon Ramsey going to make sweet love to your fish? No. Is Jamie Oliver going to hand slice every chip then rolle them across his musky cheat before deep frying? No. But you will get battered cod and well-steamed chips. It’s not by any means one of London’s best F&C places, but it works here and now.

What can I say about this place? It does what it says on the tin! It has fish and chips which are good. The kebabs(I’m a bit of a connoisseur on the ol’ spinnin’ stick) are pretty sub standard. The service is fast and friendly. It’s good for the quick fill up. And like i said, it won’t break the bank. For a kebab, head across the road. Kilburn has loads of choice when it comes to donnas. But should you leave the pub in search of grease then this will be sufficient…

I frequent Kilburn High Rd alot and I also love my chips. I have to say some of the best chips I’ve tasted, nice portions, cooked well and they are so fluffy. My little brother goes crazy for their battered sausage, their fish is good too. If you don’t fancy chips they have burgers, pies, chicken and kebabs also. I recommend their chicken burger, tasty! The eating area and cooking area is quite clean and the staff(mostly the two main guys theire) are friendly and very nice towards kids.

It’s difficult to find a decent chippy in London nowadays and I certainly didn’t expect to find one in Kilburn. Alex’s Plaice serves the traditional style fish and chips as opposed to the rubbish kebab shop take-away chips you usually find in London. They’re not the best chips in the world but they’re better than most in this city. The guys who work in there are friendly and chatty as well and the price is pretty reasonable and if you do want a burger or kebab they do those as well.
